Calling out one's own players at a press conference.

Since when has this become wrong? There once was a time when this happened frequently. Bill Walsh used to do it; he even called out Montana once. Jim Mora did it in the coulda woulda shoulda speech. He did it again with diddly pooh. He called out Peyton Manning for throwing 5 picks and then screamed out "playoffs!" a few minutes later.
Most of those were for normal bad play, but what happened here was bush league.
Remember what happened here. Not only did JW and the players not take the knee as called, but they lined up and ran a fake kneel down. That's what makes this play bush league.
(People say Sean Payton would have done that. No, he would not. If SP wanted to score on that play, he'd have called a regular play, not a fake kneel down.)
If there is anything that warrants being called out at a press conference, it's this sutuation.
Now, if you want to argue that DA has lost the locker room because the players were willing to disobey orders, then that is a legitimate argument. But he was not wrong for calling out his team for how they did what they did.
For what it's worth, I think this has Jameis Winston written all over it. He's always been a very emotional player and I think he got caught in the emotion of the moment and made an unwise decision. The rest of the players will go along with it because JW has that kind of support among the offense, but this is emblematic of his career: playing and thinking with his gonads and not his brain.

You listed examples of what players did wrong in games. What was done wrong here? They scored a TD. Dont see the issue really.

But now the Falcons gonna try to beat us next year.

Well Mrs DA?
You are horribly wrong.

Exactly. If they fumbled or didn't get it it wouldn't have changed anything but it would be a reason to bitch about it. They scored. frick them.

Running a fake play out of the QB Kneel formation while up 41-17 and time winding down when the play called was an actual QB kneel. That's bush. If they ran a normal offensive play, I would have no issue with that.

I think you need to draw on more a more comparable coach to DA, like say maybe Dave Campo.

I didn’t realize the NFL is peewee football.

That clown coach for Atlanta used to overly celebrate on the sideline everytime he played us like they won the super bowl. Now, that we return the favor you cry like a two year old?

The problem is the way saints lined up is mainly for safety reasons
It was a stupid play
You could have easily got a falcons player hurt for no reason
If you want to score that’s fine but line up for a regular play
If anything Winston should probably be fined by the league

Have you ever seen a play run or pass out of a victory formation before today? I didn't think so.

It's trashy and it's stupid.
The sole purpose of that formation is to concede a down in return for running clock, while avoiding pointless physical contact. You do it at the end of games when you're winning, and don't want to risk an injury or turnover. As such, listen to the refs- they're blowing whistles instantly so nobody gets banged up. It's meant to protect the offense.
Now, there's every reason for the defense to try to blow up the offense in that formation. They just don't know if you're going to try to run a play instead, so by rights they need to. And if someone gets hurt on a pointless last play, oh well...
And we could have been in the playoffs at that point. You better believe if we did get in, the opponent would blow us up in that formation. End of half, end of game, they're gonna bring it.

So what? I mean its the NFL. Who cares? It was a fake knee for a TD. Are you guys really upset because we rubbed it in their faces?? Like seriously who cares. If they don’t like, should have stopped it. The NFL is the only league that thinks you should stop scoring when you’re ahead- its the dumbest thing in the world.

You just don't get it or you have never put on a helmet other than in your fantasy dreams. There is no problem running the play. They probably would have scored anyway. You just don't run the play from a formation that was designed for little or no contact because BOTH sides have conceded the game is over.
What is so hard to understand about that?

Because I differ with you, I never played football. I played college football jackass. And teams run up the shite in college all the time. The formation doesn’t matter- I seen plenty of weird fake shite. The real issue is the fact Winston didn’t listen to DA. But thats a DA issue because hes a shite head coach. Most coaches support their team regardless. He threw them under the bus- again bad coaching.
Why can’t you understand the issue isn’t really why Winston ran the play. It was why he thought he could do it and how DA responded. This is all on DA.

The opposite situation has been known to start fights on the field: when the offense is kneeling and the defense tries to blow it up. But even that is more defendable than what happened here.

Trash coach. Have your players back. This is a professional sport where people are paid. Some are even paid for incentives or use those stats for their next contract.

No, you never played on any level and you have never seen a run or pass play from a victory formation. Now go to bed and sober up.
