Brees/Payton were never able to do that during all of their seasons together.

I'm just making an observation - probably the take-away message is that Saints fans have experienced a lot of heartbreak along with some rejoicing.

Payton was a regular season coach, yeah the saints got screwed on some stuff but they had plenty chances. They literally let a RB run over the whole team and kick them out the playoffs, then let a tight end whom they couldt cover ruin another season and arguably their best team they had during the era. Thanks for memories but it was way past time to turn the page
