Bump & Run

I am obviously not a DB coach, but when its the 4th quarter and your opposing QB has had only 3 or 4 incompletions all game why are we still in press man coverage? Can somebody please help me understand why we stuck with the same scheme?

Don't try to make sense of the defensive scheme from Sunday. It doesn't make any sense.

Db’s gave those wr’s too much cushion all game.

It's what these two corners excel at. They are press coverage players. When the players are having a bad game, I don't think changing the scheme will make much of a difference.
I agree with you though; the coaches needed to do something different to try at least. What they were doing was not working

We never played much press man at all. We played alot of single high with at least one corner playing off about 7 yards mostly in cover 3 and sometimes a little cover 2. Same garbage we did weeks 1 and 2 last year when we got torched. We have man press corners yet still run alot of zone. Allen sucks. Never called any contains, tried to roll coverage, send extra heat or spy. Dennis Allen is still dog shite

It was pathetic how often Anzalone and Klein ran the same blitz straight up the middle and never once came close to getting home.
Also, we ran very little bump and run, but eveytime we did they must have had an auto audible that they knew would beat it, because the few times we bumped they burned us.
More often we sat in a soft cover 3 with one corner about 3-5 yards off and the other 7-10 yards off.
It's the same shite we got beat with against Minny game 1 last year, and the starters got beat with all preseason this year.

I went back and watched every pass against the saints defense. There’s multiple first down conversions where crawley is 10 yards off the ball and Jackson simply runs straight at him and breaks it off without ever getting touched. I have no idea what bullshite Allen was running but that isn’t working against anyone.

Exactly guys, we literally ran zone garbage lol. Wanna get better? Press man, williams deep towards crawleys side lurking in a deep zone, and coleman on the other side with lattimore but a little closer towards the box. Get Davis in the middle and put robertson and teo beside him and use anzalone in coverage, not weak arse blitzes
