Landry is a very good punt returner.

I'd rather a receiver who can run the full route tree and beat a defense deep though.

Hell, we couldn't even turn Darren Sproles into a good punt returner

This thread is stupid, but this needs to be pointed out:

Cooks
26 games 1688 yds 12 tds with Drew Brees

Landry
32 games 1915 yds 9 tds with Ryan Tannehill

So lets say we actually did that. These last three years we could have gotten: Beckham(some trades would have been needed), Landry, Hill, Collins,Hunter, Reid, Tyran and a couple others.

Our last 3 years would have been better going the pure lsu homer route

Cooks is a better threat to score no matter who the qb is.

I only posted their stats to show that I didn't think Landry has had a better career so far.

Yeah the failure with only lsu players is you couldn't get all of them. You get obj you can't get Hill or Landry. Reid hasn't been that great either. Mathieu would be ideal but his head on straight because of pp. You were never getting Collins unless the murder shite didn't come up.

I dont necessarily think thats true if they have the same QB. Cooks is a better bet to score on a deep ball, sure. But, with the ball already in their hands, Jarvis is the better at YAC. I think he is also a better threat to score when in the redzone, as he has a bigger catch radius, better hands, and overall toughness to get open.

Jarvis, should have passed on Cooks, Drafted Benjamin, and got john brown (cooks clone) in the 3rd with our pick we wasted on Cooks.

You forgot about alot of other guys from Lsu in those drafts that have been solid players. Im not saying we should only draft LSU players, I am just pointing out our shitty drafts over that period we might as well have gone full blown homer Hell, dont we only have one player form the '14 draft still on the roster?

Oh well since we are pointing stuff out...

TANNEHILL throws to Landry and whats his name.

BREES throws to 9 different receivers a game.

Bandin Crooks!!!

7/79 in CAR vs Jish Normin with Luke Mccown at QB!

He is matchup and QB proof

Landry is pro bowl alt w no heart or toughness!

I must apologize to all of you. All this time ive been basing my opinions on the assumption that stats are not the only evaluator of a player's talent. I can see that from many of yall's posts, that my thinking was an absolute fallacy and there are NO other ways to evaluate a player other than his stats. Taking into account, a player's team, his QB, their scheme, and athletic capabilities (yes Lester, i know that Brandin Cooks can go deep) among other things, does not play into evaluating a player's talent level. I can see now that i was wrong and i want to make a sincere plea to yall to forgive me for my trespasses.

i think we can all agree the atrocity of '14, nobody is going to deny that.

2013:
1st round: Mingo, Reid; Vaccaro. Pretty much a wash with Reid or Vaccaro
2nd round: Minter; lost 2nd round
3rd round: Logan, Mathieu, Montgomery; Armstead. Pretty much can say we won that
5th round: Simon, Edwards; Stills. Won that
6th round: Ware; Johnson. Ware contributes more, but realistically not needed.

2014:
1st round: OBJ; Cooks - OBJ > Cooks, but not like we could have gotten him.
2nd round: Ferguson, Hill, Landry; SJB, anyone would have been better.
3rd round: Turner; Traded for Cooks. Would have been nice to have a guard, but we didn't have a chance to get him
5th round: Barrow; Sunseri and him are a wash at special teams, both good tacklers
6th round: Mettenberger, Blue; Rooks - sucks, but not like we needed either
7th round: Wright; traded 7th round for Haralson who was a decent starter.

2015:
1st round: none
2nd round: Collins; Kikaha - Collins was putrid, Kikaha actually produced relatively well
3rd round: Hunter; Williams/Grayson - advantage hunter easily at this point. It is a TBD due to IR years for the other two.
4th round: Alexander; Swapped for Max Unger and 1st
7th round: Hilliard; Murphy - PR/KR, hilliard didn't play.
UDFA: Collins, saints were not getting him. stop the nonsense.

So realistically, with hindsight.
Vaccaro or Reid, wash
Armstead > Logan, Mathieu, Montgomery
Stills > Simon/Edwards
Johnson < Ware but realistically plays a minor role in anything

2013: our draft > mainly LSU

Cooks < OBJ, but we weren't getting him.
SJB < Anybody with a pulse
Turner - would have been good to have him.
Barrow = Sunseri, wash
Rooks < Mett/Blue, realistically plays a minor role in anything as well
Haralson > Wright, actually produced some dividends.

2014: LSU > our draft mainly because it was a BAD draft overall for the Saints. getting Landry, Cooks would have worked fine. Or Cooks and Robinson

Kikaha > Collins, easily at this point
Williams/Grayson < Hunter, easily at this point. 2 were IR'd, one produced good #s
Unger > Alexander, Graham + Alexander or Unger + Anthony. I'll take the one we have.
Murphy > Hilliard, STs

2015: La'El Collins > Everyone else. Too bad we weren't getting him at all.

Yeh I mean it is just kinda impressive (or pathetic) that realistically an all LSU draft would be similar to our actual draft
