Bobby H. revealed today on radio that Brees changed 1st down play

Brees saw 8 Rams in the box and changed running play to pass. Good call, but he rushed it resulting in low pass.
MT13 had at least a first down, if not touchdown. @ 9:30 mark.
Looking at replay, 9 rams in the box at snap. Linebackers completely fooled.

Payton said that in the postgame. He said the Rams showed a zero blitz which will get checked into a slant 100% of the time by Drew.

Payton said that Sunday in his presser

I thought it was going to be at worst 8 yards live

It was the right call. Drew just missed the pass.

Man I really wish I hadn’t watched that. A pass Brees hits 99/100 is incomplete and then the joke non pass int call. I’m sick again.

We win the game if Brees hits that pass, and he hits that pass 95% of the time.
Him missing that throw was less likely than both refs holding their flags on the Lewis pass (because they had been told to not decide the game with penalties and hadn't called many penalties all game).

I didn’t realize how open the middle of the field was for a TD on the Non PI play. Wow.

This happens all day it's the RPO.
Run Pass Option - QB reads the D and hands off or throws depending on number of defenders.
Bobby H is a retard

Honestly, I'd say 99%
I cannot recall a single instance of him throwing a 7 yard slant at the receivers ankles in the 12 years he's been here.

So sick of this stupid buzz word that gets forced into every football call this year.

no, a Qb can audible into a pass or run without it being a actual RPO

incorrect. on a real RPO the QB reads "THE BOX" only not the whole D pre snap like high safties if any and what have you.
a real RPO has guys knowing it will be a run or pass and for the line to always expect a run and the receivers to always be looking for a pass. A RPO uses used play action. you never watched tua run it?
brees did no play action fake, it was NOT a RPO. it was simply a audible at the line.

smith was open in the EZ on that play also
needed to throw it to TLL sooner but may have not gotten first
dont matter it was DPI and a PF and they refused to call it

Brees was rattled most of the second half and it showed.

I sit high on the 15yrd line. It was a walk in td if the throw was good.

He changed play and threw terrible pass

It was the wrong call precisely because of the possibility of a bad throw, incompletion, or interception...and the stoppage of the clock.
The smart play is to just run the fricking ball.

quote:Why? To make them call a timeout and it be 2nd and 10 or worse? Instead Drew was trying to score a touchdown because that would make tying the game much more difficult.

Do you realize that when the Rams called their last timeout of the game they were already down to our 33 yard line with 45 seconds left?
They didn't need any timeouts to help them tie the game.
They only gained 3 more yards on that drive and kicked a field goal with 15 seconds left.
