Ansah is a guy you hope falls to you. Not trade up for.

I too think this is a stone cold lock if LT is taken care of.

I think regardless of what happens if mingo is available at 15, he's a saint

I wouldn't be shocked to see the saints nab honey badger with a late round pick

FTR, I'm not an LSU homer but I think we end up with at least one of these guys

If Kansas City drafts an OT first overall the fans should riot and burn down the stadium.

If the saints take an offensive lineman in the firs round I will break something.

I don't know how a team can justify building around one lineman. No matter how good. Look at jake long. He's a stud. Miami still sucks. I'm sure Atlanta is happy they passed on Matt Ryan

Perhaps losing Bushrod to free agency and having no decent LT's available for us to pay for in free agency with none seemingly on our roster at the time and Brees getting the sh!t knocked out of him all year because we didn't secure next to Brees the most important position on the offense thus leading to another lost year would cause some to disagree with your assesment

Huh? Will the NFL let us get multiple guys with one pick if we go with a d-lineman?

Did Ansah suck at the senior bowl or not?

He never posts links so you never know who is writing this stuff. Pretty worthless and against board rules also

Bech originally signed with another team - I want to say Carolina or Jacksonville. He came to the Saints a year later.

ETA:

He's a strength and conditioning coach with the Cowboys now FWIW. I graduated with his sister.

3.Oakland Raiders: Damontre Moore, DE/OLB, Texas A&M
4.Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
5.Detroit Lions: Bjoern Werner, DE/OLB, Florida State
6.Cleveland Browns: Jarvis Jones, DE/OLB, Georgia
7.Arizona Cardinals: Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU
8.Buffalo Bills: Mike Glennon, QB, N.C. State
9.New York Jets: Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon

15.New Orleans Saints: I'm not happy about this but I can see us cutting Vilma and needing another inside guy to play next to Lofton in the 3-4 and best player to fit there left at this point is............

don't like it, you sure you ready.....

you guessed it... Manti Te'o, LB, Notre Dame

Told you I didn't like it.

I think he is going to be good player and will probably go in the first not long after we pick probably to the Bengals, but our front office tends to like these guys who have something to prove and Te'o fits the bill.

Here's Walterfootball's writeup on Ansah:

quote:

Florida State quarterback E.J. Manuel won the 2013 Senior Bowl MVP, but the award could have easily gone defensive end Ezekiel Ansah. The BYU product was an unstoppable force. He embarrassed the offensive linemen trying to stop him, put tons of pressure on the opposing quarterbacks, made great plays to limit the running backs to short gains (or losses) and even strip-sacked Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib.

Along with Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher, Ansah made the most money at this year's Senior Bowl. He went from being a mid- or late-first-round pick to a prospect who could easily go in the top 10. I had Ansah slotted No. 19 overall to the Giants in my most recent 2013 NFL Mock Draft, but New York will be extremely lucky if he gets there.

Ansah's new range should be considered six to 19. He could go virtually to every team, given that he fits in both the 4-3 or 3-4. Ansah played outside linebacker in BYU's 3-4, so he would obviously fit the latter scheme. LINK
Draftcountdown.com said the same things about him but you can't copy/paste from their site.

Jordan and Mingo are ok but those guys are just way too light for my liking. I saw Mingo get knocked on his arse way too much in the SEC. We'll see, but Ansah's probably gonna have similar athleticism to those guys + 30 pounds.

I could see it.

But if he runs a nice 40 it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't get past the Jets

While he did have an off year last year, there's no doubting his ability. He might have gotten "pushed around" bc he was in a 43. He is just about the prototypical 34 OLB

DraftCountdown.com's write up of Ansah:

quote:

The standout of the 2013 Senior Bowl had to be B.Y.U. DE Ezekiel “Ziggy" Ansah, who absolutely terrorized the North. When all was said and done Ansah finished with a game-high 7 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup. Not bad for a guy who has only been playing football for a couple of years! I was particularly impressed with how Ansah was able to work off blocks to make plays and the guy just seems to have natural instincts for the game. Needless to say Ansah looked every bit the part of a first round pick and should challenge guys like Dion Jordan of Oregon and Barkevious Mingo of L.S.U. for a spot in the middle of round one. Perhaps even in the top ten overall… Ansah has unlimited potential.
