If we lose next week (fingers crossed), what's the best pick we could get?

Luckily Tampa is playing for something and even if they weren't, they would still kill us

Maybe trade back and get multiple picks. We have so positions that need to be upgraded

Technically, I think the highest we can draft is 5. But there would have to be a lot of upsets (Bears over Packers, Raiders over Chargers, etc.) for that to happen.
1 Giants (3-13)
2 Patriots (3-13)
3 Titans (3-13)
4 Browns (3-12) [losing to Dolphins at halftime]
5 Jaguars (4-12) (@ Colts)
6 Raiders (4-12) (vs Chargers)
7 Bears (4-12) (@ Packers)
8 Panthers (4-12) (@ falcons)
9 Jets (4-12) (vs Dolphins)
10 Saints (5-11) (@ Buccaneers)
11 49ers (6-9) (vs Lions-MNF, @ Cardinals)
12 Dolphins (7-8) [beating Browns at halftime]
13 Colts (7-9)
14 Cowboys (7-9)
15 Cardinals (7-9)
16 Bengals (8-8)
We likely drive somewhere between 8-10.

We suck at tanking.
Dennis Allen should have stayed so we could tank correctly, he’s great at losing. Instead we have an interim guy coaching his arse off.

Of that tier of 4 win teams, how many can we move in front of if they win? Obviously won't happen but if all 5 of them won is our highest all the way to 5 or somewhere in the 8 range?
Posted on 12/29/24 at 5:18 pm to Sho Nuff
well the raiders winning pushed them back to the 8th pick, and the Giants winning pushed them out of the 1st pick to 3rd. I think Jacksonville is 5th in line now

I think we have the lowest strength of schedule, so we move ahead of anyone we have the same record with. I think.
Also, my post is just based on record, so I’m not sure where everyone is at the moment. I think with the Giants winning they moved down to 4 and Patriots moved to 1.

Where do people get this idea that a bunch of 5th round flyers is better than a high percentage pick.
No. Go get your guys. If we’re so good at getting diamonds in the rough then that’s what UDFA is for.

Currently at #10
Here is the current order
5 Jacksonville 4-12 play @ Indianapolis 7-8-0
6 NY Jets 4-12 play at home vs Miami 7-8
7 Carolina 4-12 Play @ Atlanta 8-7
8 Las Vegas 4-12 @ home vs the Chargers 10-6
9 Chicago 4-12 @ the Packers 11-4
10 NOLA 5-11 @ Tampa Bay 8-7
11 49ers 6-9 at home vs Detroit 13-2, @ Arizona 8-7
Vegas has the tiebreaker over NOLA But I doubt they beat the Chargers. I do think the Bucs beat the Saints and the Falcons beat the Panthers. I also think the Packers beat the Bears.
Assuming that the Jets and the Jags win that would mean a 3 way tie for the #8 spot. Again, no idea what the tiebreakers are but that would mean the most realistic best draft position for the Saints is 8th but I think that the odds are pretty good that it will be #10 overall.

According to Tankathon, the highest we can go is 8 and the lowest we can go is 10th.
To get to 8th we need the Bears to beat the Packers in Green Bay and the Raiders to beat the Chargers. And we would have to lose next week.
1. New England Patriots: 3-13 record; .465 SOS
2. Tennessee Titans: 3-13; .509 SOS
3. New York Giants: 3-13; .551 SOS
4. Cleveland Browns: 3-12; .537 SOS
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-12; .472 SOS
6. New York Jets: 4-12; .496 SOS
7. Carolina Panthers: 4-12; .498 SOS
8. Las Vegas Raiders: 4-12; .546 SOS
9. Chicago Bears: 4-12; .553 SOS
10. New Orleans Saints: 5-11; .513 SOS
11. San Francisco 49ers: 6-9; .563 SOS

Always trade back except for someone who might be a franchise QB. Scouting is not an exact science even for 1st round draft picks. There are plenty of busts.
You’re more likely to have success when you have more darts to throw at the board so to speak. Maybe not the 5th round but you can find plenty of talent in the late 1st round and rounds 2-4.

We will be picking at 10... And we should pick Malaki Starks S Georgia...

Look at how many shitty teams there are this year, god damn

If that’s all we can get we need to trade down, way down and get numerous picks including a 1st for 2026. This is a disaster and picking 10 has us waiting until 2032 before we can have a winning season again.

If you picking top ten. Have to pick a position that’s a game changer. A safety ain’t it.
Tackles, corners, receivers, ends, qbs.

People always say this draft after draft yet it takes another team who values that draft spot & agreeing to the terms of trade to do so. It's not frickin Madden.

Knowing the saints luck, I’m putting a parlay down that they will all lose.
