I agree with the pick. Just don't sell Moore short. As much of a go to guy for Brees as Colston and Graham. Just needs to stay healthy.

Toon will be a good one and a perfect replacement for Meachem.

There really weren't any good FA WRs this year. And no great defensive talents that fit what we needed when we drafted.

Also, we revamped our defense in the off season if you didn't notice. We need young WRs, CBs and OL now. There arent a lot of CBs that should be taken right now. Not over Toon or Jones or Washington.

Who should we have taken?

So Boykin would have pushed us towards a terrible draft?

No, but obviously Toon was ranked higher on the Saints board.

You have to not only think about the talent of the player, but how he fits into your system. That will effect the players ranking, and it's a big reason why every teams boards are different.

You can't get defensive players via free agency? Only WRs?

I actually reeeeally like the pick. Preseason I called for Toon to have an All-American type of season and wrote the following:

"Toon is in the Hines Ward mold of a WR. He has decent not great size at 6'3 215 but he is incredibly strong for his size and a good runner after the catch. He doesn't have elite top-end speed so he might not run an incredible 40 time - probably in the 4.5 range - but he has great acceleration so he plays faster than he tests. This allows him to get in and out of his breaks quickly and get the necessary separation that makes him an elite route runner.

He doesn't have Ward's mentality when it comes to run blocking - no WR really does - but he has the willingness to go over the middle and make the tough catch. If he can work on his concentration with the routine catches - he can make incredible catches but has lapses with the routine catches at time due to lack of focus - then he will be an incredible duo with Wilson. He's also a guy who has struggled with injuries and has never had a full season to display his talents."

However, but don't EVER disagree with any move the Saints front office makes or you going down on this board.

Not with the new CBA. I'm not sure how we signed Lofton, Hawthorn, Chandler, Bunkley...all while being investigated by the league. Crazy...

Oh yeah, WR's are a dime a dozen apparently.

Dude was solid for Wisconsin with a qb whos comparable to brees. He'll be a more than capable replacement for meachem. Don't see how this is a wasted pick.
