bushrod was our 2nd LT, hargrove was our 4th DT behind ellis, ayodele, and clancy. and he's situational at that. not comparable.
I'm going to go slowly here... 2 DT positions.... 2 T positions.... you want to seperate the LT spot but call Hargrove 4 th string for a 2 spot position.

hell, carolina plugged in a LG at LT and a backup RT the other day and still dominated minnesota's dline.
Do i need to make a list of the team's that we've dominated this year?

So Bushrod has started pretty much the entire fricking season, has a subpar game against THE BEST PASS RUSHER IN THE NFL WHO WAS ONLY PLAYING ON PASSING SITUATIONS and you want to come bitch about he's the worst LT you've ever seen in a saints uniform.

clancy was capable of playing the 3-tech so it's not divided up as easily as that. if he would be healthy he'd be starting alongside ayodele.

with a d-line like minnesota? the giants are comparable but they didn't really a give a shite from week 6 through the atl game in the meadowlands.

Agreed. That's just ridiculous. Bushrod has been very good for the most part this year.

So would Brown... i'm failing to see any non-hypocritical point here.

So the vikes gave a shite but the giants didn't. Glad you solved that one. Got it.

bushrod= 2nd in line
hargrove= 3rd in line had clancy been around/situational guy
there's a big difference as there as no such thing as a situational OT.

tuck and osi's effort has been questioned for most of the year. that isn't some kind of breaking news i'm bringing.

Evidently there is cause Strief was brought in to start for a game bc they like the matchup better.

That's usually what happens when you get your arse whooped.

why were they not desperate vs. tuck? abraham? peppers? ware?
stylez white is a good DE but he's not the best we've seen.
they wanted to see if streif could replace bushrod and apparently he couldn't. hence 2nd/3rd string.

grant's on a 13-1 team and doesn't seem to give a shite either.

I never said desperate.

Oh, the game that he started and the saints whooped arse... strief didnt' make the cut...

Saints OL is 4th in the NFL with 19 total sacks allowed.
Carolina? 17th with 30.
Demarcus Ware is 6th in the league with 11 sacks. 3rd with 5 forced fumbles.
Sometimes even good LT's get abused in games. It happens. Remember Walter Jones in the SB vs the Steelers?
It happens.
Bushrod can learn from it, and get better. . .or he can carry his arse back to King George. You are giving a kneejerk response to a single game.

obviously payton did not think he played that well. if you can't replace a guy who requires help 98% of the time then chances are you're pretty terrible.

Well obviously Payton thinks Bushrod is doing well enough.

This entire thread is stupid. Not for the basic point it makes but for the insane chicken little tone. Bushrod is adequate but obviously can't handle fast speed rushers. Considering the salary cap situation I think I'd still be for letting Brown walk if he wants a big payday. They've been able to cover Bushrod's weaknesses most of the year without missing a beat on offense.

there's no one to replace him with since the saints lack quality depth up front. outside of nesbit i wouldn't be comfortable with one of our backups starting.

They could have moved Stinchy over to LT if they thought this would help the team and move our less than spectacular T to RT where it might not get Drew killed. Evidently, they feel good enough to let it be.

possible matchups for Bushrod in the future:
Clay Matthews Jr. OLB-GB
Jared Allen DE-Minnesota
DeMarcus Ware OLB- DAL
Anthony Spencer OLB-DAL
Darnell Dockett DE-Arizona
Trent Cole-DE-Philly
You guys are kidding yourselves if you don't think we'll have this problem again.

NIH is right. We should have signed Willie Roaf when Brown went down.
