Anybody Have The Best Explanation of Tom vs Rita/Renee?

Not to beat a dead horse, but his funeral kind of got me thinking about it. I've heard how Rita was intolerable to all the Saints inner-workings and she'd fire people constantly, but what was the straw that broke the camel's back? I remember the letter he sent where he was like "Never speak to me again!", shortly before Renee and the kids filed suit. But what exactly got the ball rolling at such an epic pace? And where can I find out best story on it all?

I think you pretty much nailed it bub. That and seems like there was a rift between Gayle and the kids.

Obviously he was wealthy when he bought the team. Rita was 8 years old in 1985 when he did so, but in the mid-80's an NFL team wasn't exactly the insanely unreachable status symbol it is today. She grew up in Johnson City, which is still literally 50-60 miles from Austin or San Antonio. So I'd guess she wasn't a big city kid. One would think she was moderately sheltered in childhood to grow up in an upper middle class, rich Texas kinda vibe.
She went to Lyndon B. Johnson High School, which is a public school. Graduated from A&M in Agribusiness in 2001. So again, it's not like she was some NYU brat. If she went off to USC or the like, maybe it would make some sense. But boring arse aTm? Agribusiness?!
Where did it all go wrong? Was she just batshit insane?

Kids don't turn out like you would like or expect all the time.
Mr Benson wanted her to be a corporate executive and run a billion dollar business.
She tried and failed.
Got pissed at being fired and tried to go through the courts to get what she thought was her's to have.

Dude, yes... That's what I was looking for. I remember reading those when they came out but it certainly clears it up in hindsight.
So it looks to me like Renee never seemed to want to leave Texas for anything. And Rita was probably some kind of nutcase.

Hooking up with a certain chick. partying with said chick and a certain NOLA “celebrity”, thus developing a healthy cocaine habit. Showing up to the game suite zooted out of her mind on coke and getting physical with Mrs. Gayle. Being a tyrant around the facility. It was a culmination of all of this.

Along with dawn we dont hear much of ryan benson leblanc.
I know he sided with rita and their mother but other than that not much else seems known for him to have been initially cut off as well.

Not a question in my mind that Gayle is a gold digger and that Benson had dementia for at least 2 years before he passed away.

A gold digger? She saved the Pelicans, brought back Dixie beer, attempted to save the Times Picayune but they wouldn’t sell, got Tom to build the Dominican lab, got Tom to build the cancer research center, got Tom to help fund Tulane stadium, got Tom to build out in Canton. Oh and the Saints are NEVER leaving NOLA. The lady is a damn saint you dumb arse.

Tom Benson's second wife, Grace, had three children from a previous marriage, I believe. Peake BMW belongs to one of those children, I think. No clue what's happening with that branch of his family, but they're smart enough to try to stay out of the fray.
