Amazing what has happened since 2018

The Rams finally won the big one, while Sean Payton quits on his team to "try television" for a year.

But people will still watch and buy merchandise...
Frick the NFL, I'll keep watching the Saints, but I won't put a dime towards merchandising.

Dude, can you give it a rest about Payton? He was the Head Coach for 16 years. It's not like he won a title and immediately dipped just to come back in a year. He isn't Saban

This part is true

I'm still trying to figure out what Saban did that was wrong though. He pursued an NFL career, failed, and was subsequently lured back to college with a fat deal from Bama.
It does appear Payton is doing the same thing, only with the actual intention of coaching for another NFL team. If we are comparing the two, Payton's is more egregious; however, I don't have a problem with either, because after 16 years people may want a change. I get that, and I don't fault him for it.

Saban also won a natty at LSU and is a reason Brees came to new Orleans. LSU fans are dumb for hating Saban, only jealous

And helped launch the program forward.

That would be the Dolphins medical staff and ownership, Saban wanted Brees.

Stupid take.
Fandom is not rational. If he had gone to Ohio State and done exactly the same thing, the hatred would not be so strong. There is longstanding animosity toward Alabama that predates Saban's coaching career, going back to Bear Bryant/Charlie Mac days. That is a big part of the animus.

Saban built the program and left just as it was getting going, then went on to a rival where he’s had all the success.
Payton’s legacy is sealed with the Saints, he built the whole culture and saw it through over 16 years and Brees whole career. He didn’t just suddenly leave immediately after the Super Bowl. He built two other contending teams and tried to do it again. It’s completely different. I also don’t see him going to the Falcons and having an incredible amount of success

Hence why I said a reason and not the reason. He went along with the medical staff and decided on Culpeper so yes he's part of the reason we got Brees
And yes LSU fans are dumb

You are an emotional child. Payton owes you NOTHING.
Perhaps he wanted to move on from NOLA. As a native of New Orleans that hurts, but I certainly understand it and don't hold it against people anymore. Grow up.

I had to explain this to my “bama fan” bruthainlaw.
He asked if I just hated bama since saban went there.
I said, ive hated them muthafreekas since I was 8 years old(1975).
