Every show on ESPN is leading with how the Saints are fricking up QBs worlds and i LOVE it.
Of course its being called dirty, etc. But i dont care. If this was Baltimore or the Jets theyd be calling it "smash mouth football."

I'll take a few roughing the passer penalties, a reputation for being dirty, and a super bowl win anyday

Yeah, this aspect of football has definitely changed for the bad. I'm all for protecting QB's, but they're calling games differently now based on the age/health/reputation of the QB. Younger QB's don't get half the calls Favre and Warner have been getting.

"The quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard" - a once sane Al Davis
They were using this quote to slurp Rex Ryan and the Jets last week and now that the Saints are doing it they're up in arms.

Howie Long likes it... said so on his radio show. I think all the former defensive players like it, whether they're on ESPN, FOX, or NFL Network.
But perceptions is like anything else... think back to the regular season. Indianapolis wins because someone misses a field goal and it's considered a "character win" for Indianapolis. The Saints win because someone missed a field goal and it's the other team "losing the game" rather than the Saints winning the game.
Personally, as much fun as it was to watch the NFC Championship game (although very stressful), I hope the Saints crush the Colts just so I don't have to listen to ESPN cry that the Colts "lost the game" to the Saints...

The problem is..Manning WILL get those calls. And now that Williams has made known his intentions, the refs will definately be looking for it. Just more fuel for the fire.

That's my only fear for the Super Bowl... but you know what - it'll take it's tole on Manning who isn't half as tough as Favre.

Happiness is Peyton Manning's helmet rolling around on the ground with his head still in it

Williams hasn't made anything known.
Did you even read the interview?

Manning's about a billion times smarter than Favre. He doesn't take hits. When he senses that he's about to get sacked, he takes a dive.

I'm willing to bet a few of Gregg's blitzes will get to him in time. He won't just dive on the ground every time someone's close and we're definitely going to bring the pressure.

Bingo..all you had to do is watch the Indy/Jets Game. It took him 2 series to figure out the blitz and start picking it apart with quick slants.
Peyton is the best at making adjustments. I think it would be a good idea for us to mix coverages and defenses.
