I’ve been listening to daily training camp podcasts from NOF, Ross Jackson, etc and Taylor has not looked great in the slot. The trend continues in game 1.

Obviously it’s still very early in his career, but rather than trying to make him something that he’s not, why not just leave him outside (See Zach Baun)?

They do need to find somebody who can back up Roby there. Not sure there's anyone on the roster right now who is capable enough.

It does take live play reps before the position would click. I don't have a problem with them investing some effort into it.

Taylor is being played there because Adebo isn’t a slot guy. Roby needs a backup

I watched him close last year & this one game today, he’s an above average CB as of right now. That’s not a knock on him as it’s only 1st preseason game in his 2nd year. He flashed some last year and people thought/hope he’s next big thing but the simple fact is he got beat fairly often last year. I also listened to Ross Jackson the Tiger say “he is not a slot corner” but he didn’t give any reasoning. From what I saw in this 1 game he doesn’t appear to be any better or worse at slot than outside. Again not a knock and I’m sure he’ll continue to improve but I do not understand all the local media and message boards talking about “CB2 battle” between Taylor & Adebo because Adebo is clearly the better option at this point. Roby May still be the best slot corner but you definitely need to continue to work Taylor at slot in practice and these preseason games to see if he can work his way to be one of the best 11 and find his way on the field

He’s so so much better outside than he is in the slot. I wonder if we’ll get a look at Adebo in the slot next time instead of Taylor. Still, Roby might end up being the starter there.
