I meant he has no more value to the Saints not the rest of the NFL. he's still a productive player you can get something for. A trade partner probably would be willing to help get his contract renegotiated. The point is before his production hits a wall like it always does for RBs in the NFL, you get rid of him while he has trade value. His production value for the Saints is meaningless at this point since we're in a rebuild. He's a fat contract player that's a waste of space on our roster.
He'd still be worth keeping around if we were good. We're not. by the time we're good he's just going to be a huge drain on the salary cap with limited production. You can add Lattimore to that discussion too and I'm someone would be happy to take him off our hands with renegotiating his deal to help the Saints on cap. Lattimore would probably just get a huge extension from whoever wants him with more guaranteed money so he probably would be happy to renegotiate.
You're going to have to bite the bullet on decisions like this. The sooner FO realizes it, the faster we can rebuild. Do you want one of the highest paid CBs on your roster or trade for a franchise QB you can build a roster around?

I have consistently said this team needs to focus on fixing the cap, even if that means shitting the bed for the next 2-3 years. As long as they are making moves to clear things up, instead of trying to go all in every year, I could live with 5-8 wins a year for a few years.
With that said, unless the Saints get really creative with their contracts, these players are not tradeable right now, and will need to restructure their contracts to get under the cap in 2023
Cam - trade only saves $2.2M, but restructure could save up to ~$12M
Latt - trade adds $6M to cap, but restructure could save up to ~$10M
Peat - trade only saves $1.42M, but restructure could save up to ~$8M (I hope they just leave this alone then cut bait in 2024
AK - trade only saves $600k, but restructure could save up to ~$7M
Taysom - trade costs $9.6M, but restructure could save up to ~$6.8M
MT - trade costs $13M. He just restructured and is set to either be cut, or will be here at least through 2023
You cannot do much to some of the bigger contracts other than restructure them. If the team can get away without restructuring some of these, you can move them in 2024. But, once they restructure, moving on in 2024 may be as difficult as it would be this year
