Because his production is on a steady nosedive of decline now. It's not hard to understand. Smart teams offload players who still have trade value before they nosedive to no trade value in performance. I don't know what his contract is but if gets us good draft pick value you go for it even if you can't replace his production immediately. This team is not going anywhere anytime soon it's full rebuild mode and you're just going to have to eat the cap situations.

Anyone who's not on a cheap 1st contract or Saints friendly contract needs to go. Eat their cap hit. Rebuild through draft starting by honing in a franchise QB. Get out of cap hell, start unloading in FA with whatever young talent we get. Makes the drafts critical.

The only way to get young is load up on draft picks so bye Felicia to an aging team with fat contracts. At the very least it allows you to trade for that franchise QB.

Of course, it's a mute point anyway because this organization is retarded enough to think they can compete for a SB next year with the current coaching staff and personnel. Wouldn't be shocked if they're dumb enough to trade for Carr.

tl;dr would you rather Kamara continue to decline in production with him devouring our cap or get something for him now and take a temporary hit to the cap that's not friendly anytime soon anyway? They really need to trade Lattimore too. They probably can get a ton for him but he's a massive cap hit but man it would be worth it if we could position ourselves with lots of young cheap talent or a franchise QB.

Fat contract players all over your roster guarantees you have no chance at going anywhere. Proven fact. You absolutely must hit homeruns all over your roster with cheap 1st contract players. The big contracts have to be smart and right now, they're not smart because they're filled by players who are going to decline in production moving forward and in positions that are not favorable for a rebuild anyway. It's a difficult decision that this organization will not have the balls to do because they have a win right now mindset that's near impossible. They're delaying the bleeding out at this point when they should bleed out right now so it's easier in the shorter term to patch up.

OK so nothing of the kind was said in court here.

However, he said Mayer failed to prove any legal right to damages.

"At best, he possessed nothing more than a contractual right to a seat from which to watch an NFL game between the Jets and the Patriots, and this right was clearly honored," Cowen wrote.

Well, that seems cut and dried to me. No guarantee of an outcome or even entertainment.

quote:

"(The opinion) seems to suggest that no matter how much ticket holders pay, they can be defrauded by NFL teams. And it puts the NFL on the same level as professional wrestling," Afran said.

And the lawyer for the plaintiff tries to obfuscate the obvious meaning of the ruling, that his client got exactly what he paid for so there were no damages.

Mayer plans to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, buoyed in part by what he called consumer-friendly rulings involving sports teams in other circuit courts. For instance, a circuit court ruled that Ohio's consumer-protection laws apply to statements the Cleveland Browns made about whether they were staying in town, he said.

quote:

"We think the matter might be of interest to the Supreme Court," Mayer told The Associated Press. "We never surrender."

I'm guessing that the court has been too busy to review this since 2010

Thanks for the link.

If the games are scripted, what would be the point of attempting to steal signs?

The article does not cover what the NFL argued in court. Why don't you look up the specifics of the case presented by the NFL. I gave you a link to the ruling reported by the press.

Because I am not making undocumented claims (implying they mean the NFL has admitted to rigging the outcome). Until someone presents evidence to back those claims up I will assume they are meaningless claims.

Dang baw, is that the best you got? I didn't consider simple-minded before Tacky mentioned it but that makes the most sense. My apologies, it's bad form to pick on the mentally challenged.

Hey fellow posters, we have two NFL rats right here on the board.

Enjoy your part-time job working for one of the many sub contracted NFL public relations firms hired to set narratives like bountygate and to mitigate public perceptions of fixed NFL games.

A little extra money working a side job is fine.

Did you just do a TL:DR that was longer than your actual post?

The major problem with your point of just trading AK, is they need to restructure his contract to get under the cap. It isn't a matter of just eating it then through a rough patch, they won't be able to fill the roster or sign the draft picks until they are under the cap.

My question about what the hell is going on is in the same breath you said he had no value, then said we need to trade him while he still has value. A player can't have both no value & tradeable value. Also, other teams will see more footage than you or I; so why would they give up assets for a RB that has no value? And, I do not see any team giving draft picks for an aging RB on the decline with a huge contract.
