I’m proud of what this team has done, going into the season I certainly didn’t see us making the playoffs, especially after an 0-2 start. We have so much young talent moving forward and I truly believe the future is bright. Also, Marcus Williams had a hell of a season. It’s wrong to judge him based on one bad play.

If we stay healthy, we will be the favorite to win the NFC next year

Fill some needs with FA and the draft and we will be a 13 win team.

"Proud" is the one word I'd use as well. Going back to the first Carolina game all the way through the end of last Sunday's game, these guys played with heart and guts. Most NFL fans will just remember the last play of the last game, but I (and all Saints fans) will remember the amazing comeback the last 14 or so minutes of the game.

Pure heart, no question.

The coaches and players are excited about this team and it's future. Who am I to disagree?

PS-Looking at next year's schedule, Dome Field Advantage will be bigger than ever. Philly, LA Rams, and the Steelers come to the dome. Holding serve at home will go a long, long way to getting a top two seed next season.

How do we keep from falling into the same trap after 2013. Everything was pointing up then too. How do we keep from having a major let down in 2018?

The difference is this team is built on youth. They also got rid of a bunch of shitty coaches. The only thing that will stop them from having a good record next season is injuries and possibly the schedule being rough.

Team is coming off 2 great drafts and has cap money to spend for once

Assistant coaches(Nolan/Glenn/Neilsen) are not Vitt/McMahon/Johnson

If not “the” favorite, at least in the top 2 or 3 to win NFC.

no offense to rob ryan but I believe this defense is more legit & more promising then that defense was better draft classes this time around.

why the laugh?

i was gonna put being a favorite to a top 2 to 3 seed, but why not the 1?

Our IR list had to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, in the league as far as starters go.

Agreed, we should definitely be considered in the top 3 before the next season starts. Obviously depending on how the offseason goes.

It was an exciting season. That last play still stings like a gun shot, however.

Let's get the ball rolling. Sign Drew, have another solid draft class and pick up a couple of needs in FA. No reason to not be top 2 or 3 in NFC next year with a solid offseason.

Been saying this. As young as we are, as deep as we went on our bench due to injuries - to make that run was special. Lots of young guys got quality PT. We will be better next year. That makes us one of the favorites.

A lot of depth got hurt too. It's amazing what this team did with what we had out.

The 2014 off-season was a huge failure by Payton. After we had been beaten-up twice by the Seahawks, Payton and Loomis took it as a sign that we needed to adapt to what Seattle was doing. They thought we needed a safety that could cover a wide swath and deliver some hard hits. They let Harper and Jenkins walk and dumped a bunch of cash into Jarius Byrd. It was, obviously, a mistake.

This offseason should be different for a few reasons -- first, the defensive talent we have coming back far exceeds that of 2013.

We have Jeff Ireland making some of the personnel decisions now and he's proven to be pretty damn solid in the talent evaluation department.

Payton now knows exactly what he has in Kamara and an entire offseason to work the offense around him. We went into 2014 having cut loose our biggest offensive threat in Sproles.

Also, we will have some huge additions in the way of injured players returning as well as some street free agents we picked up that contributed nicely this season.

All told, the NFC will be very top-heavy again next season with Wentz back in Philly, the Cowboys with Zeke for a whole season, the Rams, the Seahawks, the possible return of the Niners with Jimmy G, Rodgers back in GB and of course the always tough NFC South. We'll be in the mix -- and we'll likely be a favorite to rep the South.
