This actually is the best explanation I have seen - we don't want to get punished like the Cardinals did two years ago

Could explain why the desire to fly up there and have an after hours dinner interview. Quick search shows this is what AZ gave up for their tampering charge
quote:

The Eagles moved up to the 66th overall pick, sending the 94th overall selection and a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Cardinals. It wasn't just an ordinary trade-up scenario, though. The deal was made to settle a tampering investigation into the Cardinals.

The cardinals gave up picks because they were contacting him during the week of the Super Bowl and during the dead period. The saints had permission and were within the rules of flying up and meeting him. The cardinals brass decided and owner called Gannon during the week of the Super Bowl which is tampering. They gave up picks because of it. So yes, the women on here complaining that we’re the last to hire don’t realize they can’t hire him till he was eliminated from the playoffs or after the Super Bowl.

My only concern with the wait is getting a good staff. Seems like guys are coming off the board quickly.

There’s a huge pool of talented position coaches who would love to jump into coordinator roles. That’s not even considering the good jobless coordinators out there

And hopefully Moore has his guys already lined up.

We/They have been around the entire time, they just get drowned out by all the new posters that love to flood the board with their sky is falling new threads as if it is an original idea even though there are 100 other posts with the exact same though

Good link and thanks for posting.

The part that pisses me off a little, is that he acknowledged la that we are a franchise that is “often in the crosshairs of the league.” Thats some crap arse bullshite. frick Roger Goodell!

He is going to poach the frick out of the Philly staff, apparently not a good work environment.

Another one of those things that we all know to be true, but really hurts when you hear someone that works on a national level confirm it

If it works out this way then fine. If not, the Saints will really look foolish.

Which guys aren’t available that you like and the Saints were targeting?

No idea. Just seems like the HCs hired first would have a good shot at getting the best first. If Moore is who we want, then I absolutely think we should wait though.

Ben Johnson locked up Dennis Allen right after he was fired not knowing what team it would be for.
I would guess Moore is already informally working on his staff.

Isn’t his old boss on the chargers available? He was a shitty head coach but I think he was a good dc. Had the Rams as the # 1 D in the league as DC before taking the head coach job.
