If we draft Tua I will throw up and will not go back to the Dome once Brees leaves.

I know. I wouldn’t doubt it, especially with Moses and Leatherwood announcing they are returning. Sounds like they all got together to make another run.
If that’s the case my vote goes for Shenault but preferably Higgins. Payton tends to lean towards bigger WRs. Cooks being the exception

Why? By all measures he has a good feel for the pocket, decent arm, very accurate in mid and deep passing game. Pretty mobile too. Reminds me a ton of Russell Wilson and how he plays. I don’t think he’d come in like Mahomes and dominate but he could develop into a Pro Bowler fairly easily

His route running isn’t great? That’s one of his best attributes in my opinion.

They need a vertical passing threat, I don’t care how big or small he is

You like KJ Hamler Lester?

I do Jamal
Good in short game and obviously can get deep

24th is correct. We had the best regular season record of the teams to lose in the wildcard round.
What would your emotions be if we went with Easton from Washington?

I don’t think a vertical passing threat matters. Brees can’t get it there consistently anymore. He still hits his shots every now and then but a vertical threat isn’t going to add much.
They just need someone who can win consistently over their man on the outside. Cook is good but against a good safeties he can’t get separation. Ginn is about to be 34-35. He’s basically a decoy. That’s what pissed Cooks off about our offense. What kills us is TreQuan not able to win consistently and same for Ginn when he’s not going deep. Brady won those championships not because he was going deep. Their pass game is short to mid range like ours but they had a number of different options that won over the middle or up the seam. Getting a big body like Higgins who can high point over the middle or up the seam would do wonders for our offense

Deep WR class this year.
Draft BPA at OT/OG/DT. Get a WR in the third round. Maybe the WR from TCU.
We need a Peat and Rankins replacement more than a WR.

I doubt Rankins goes anywhere. If anything we’ll let Onyemata go and roll with Tuttle behind him.
I’d be totally for drafting a badass Guard at 24 but it’s mostly a Center and Tackle draft and the offense has ignored WR for far too long. If they don’t move up for a QB then they’ll take a WR. Then in round 3 they’ll go guard and hope they hit. If not, they’ll roll with Easton

Can’t agree with that.
Guy doesn’t have to be Ted Ginn and only run 1 route. But they need someone that can get deep. The three guys I mentioned can do it all

Brees can’t get it there. What’s the point if they can get deep?

next year’s QB prospects seem dismal
Someone will emerge. If not, we can find a one-year stopgap and draft a quarterback in 2022.

Plus I think a seam threat is more important. Brees hasn’t had that since Graham. Had it in Colston. Need someone who can win over the middle and through the seam. Harris could be a nice deep threat next year

Sure he can. The threat opens up the offense
Getting vertical doesn’t always entail a throw 50-60 yards in the air
Much more difficult defending a multi level offense as that proved today

Agree to disagree Les
Ginn isn’t bad and he’s the vertical threat, teams just don’t respect it not because it’s not there but because Brees just doesn’t go to it and when he does he throws picks. Regardless, we need a WR. No matter if it’s Hamler, Duvernay, Jefferson, Shenault or Higgins.

He’s kind of thin and his route running isn’t great. He does make plays though. Still, I think Burrow makes him look a lot better than he is I think. Chase is the real first round WR over there.
Ah, so you haven’t really paid attention and are going out on a ledge for the Belitnikoff winner. JJ is going to light it up in the league.
