Fire Dennis Allen.

Promote Klint Kubiak to HC.

Hire Robert Saleh as DC

Be happy

That would mean admitting that DA was a bad hire. They won’t do that.

Sure, promote the guy whose offense is the cause of the last 3 losses? The same guy that was OC for the Vikings that did not perform and the whole staff was let go.

This is a prove it stop for Kubiak and so far he has not shown he is ready for a promotion.

Spoiler:

The DA defense is fricking overrated and always has been.

We’re bend but don’t break. Our defense sucks.

KC dominated us up and down the field. And it wasn’t the first time this season

Our defense ‘sucks’ because our own offense wears them out by never maintaining drives

They’ve played well this year for the most part

Yeah let’s keep this shitshow together for an above average aging defense. That often plays poorly situationally. DA is not some irreplaceable defensive mind

Yea, y’all are probably right. Might be time to blow it up and start over

Let the record also show that I don’t think promoting Kubiak to head coach is a great idea

Total reboot for the franchise needs to happen

That ain’t on Kubiak at all. We’re down to our 4th or 5th center. Our starting RG is out. We have a rook at LT, and Kubiak is having to hide the weakness that is Penning at RT.

We literally only have 2 WR and 1 RB. Taysom is invaluable to the offense for his actual production, but more so the different looks he gives the defense because of all the versatility he brings in being able to line up in different spots and have the defense follow him around, opening up things that wouldn’t normally be open. Carr is terrified of getting hit and backs up and just chunks the ball up on a prayer. And he’s still somehow hitting Shaheed on deep balls once a game.

We have literally 2 TEs, and Johnson has been a huge disappointment in the passing game. I don’t know what more else Kubiak can do. He’s been very good considering what he’s had to work with. I just don’t see any way you can be fairly criticize him for our offensive woes.

Ok, we lose Allen's defense. Point taken. Now, understand: this is an offensive game right now. Having a stout defense gets you some respect, but it doesn't get you many wins.

You need a big offense to win. You need either a great QB, or a good system. Ideally both, but look at the 49ers with Brock Purdy. He's a winner there, but he's not elite by any stretch of the imagination.
You potentially have the opportunity with Kubiak, to put that system into place here. If it works, we will be winning... and then he gets hired to go somewhere else.
Unless you get ahead of things and make him head coach here first.

With a healthy offensive line, Kubiak put up over 40 points in two games. Quit gaslighting, the injuries to the offensive line are why we are 2-3. It's not like Kubiak just forgot how to call plays the last three games. No team can overcome the number of injuries the Saints currently have. Case and point, 49ers and Rams.

This is the right answer. When playing with all the pieces, Kubiak's offense was pretty damn good. And that offense kept our defense off the field for a lot of time as well.

The truth, which Kubiak can't control, is that the Saints are paper-thin on the OL depth charts. Losing two starters (one of which was McCoy) was a major hit to the offense. When Taysom was playing, those losses could be covered a bit because he's a wildcard - nobody knew what he was going to do from one play to the next, and that uncertainty kept opposing defenses from completely committing to exploiting our depleted OL.

No Taysom and the walking wounded of our OL spelled doom for the offensive performances we saw the first two weeks. The most obvious clue to how those losses hurt is how Kamara's impact has virtually dried up. No Taysom for distraction (or counter-punch), and poor OL blocking from the backups has really thrown a damper on Alvin's performance.

No, it's NOT Kubiak's fault. If you want to throw shade at someone, throw it at the Saint's head office that got us into cap hell with a paper-thin set of starters and no backups worth talking abouit.

I can get behind this idea.

We still have veterans with trade value, and we should start stockpiling draft capital like bottled water is in Florida right now. What would some "on the bubble" teams give for Taysom, or Alvin, or maybe even Carr?

We also have a bunch of young players to build around, and I'm intrigued to see how Rattler performs in his first regular season game. Other young up-and-comers are still on rookie contracts (Taylor, Olave, Fuaga, etc.) and won't cost a fortune to keep around while we rebuild.

As far as coaches go, do what you have to to keep Kubiak as OC. Go get a young(ish) hotshot DC (Saleh wouldn't be a bad choice), and get a head coach that can manage the team and let the coordinators do what they do best.

This is a reckoning that's been a long time coming, but I think we're at the right point to finally start the rebuild. Get leverage for new players, shed costly (and underperforming) contracts with bad cap hits, roll with what we have and see what we can do in the next year or two.

I'm on board with that.

Just my two pennies worth, y'all.
