I’m normally right there with y’all. I believe you play well enough where one iffy call doesn’t make the difference..... but this is not that. This is a 100% no doubt about it, blatant and egregious no call that single handily kept the Saints out of the Super Bowl. So you can take your above the fray attitude, shove them up your arse and pull them back out next season for week one.

That call puts us at the 4 where we can kneel out the clock and kick a FG to win.

We can talk about what we could've done, but that call lost the game period.

And I HATE blaming refs. This was BS

Exactly. We had a chance at the end to win the game regardless of what we did wrong prior to that play, and we just got absolutely robbed. It was bullshite

It just played out as badly as you could imagine. Brees makes that first down throw almost every single time. And then the no call.

Agreed. This wasn't a 50/50 call where guys like Mike Pereira and Gene Steratore can spin it in the league's favor. This was flat-out wrong, in the truest sense of the word.

The league and refs should get holy hell for this, but they likely won't, which makes the whole thing even worse somehow.

Please correct me if I am wrong...but let's say the catch is made and he goes out of bounds....that pass was short of the 1st down, wasn't it?

Wouldn't it have still been 4th and about 3 and the FG would have happened anyway?

Yes. What's your point?

This about PI that DID happen

PI is an automatic 1st down.
I mean....was today your 1st game ever?

I won't deny the game probably would have ended with that call. I also won't deny that the Saints offense showed a complete lack of composure in overtime as they had most of the game.

Seriously? He didn’t catch the ball bc he was crushed before it arrived, so it’s pure speculation as to what would’ve happened it he hadn’t been crushed before the ball arrived —which is exactly why they have the rule. C’mon man.

With that comment, I'm beginning to wonder how our sailors can even make it out of port.

rams offense also had long stretches where they lacked composure. that tends to happen when both teams have talented defenses

You miss the point entirely.

You don't make choices that put the games in the refs hands...because you are bound to get fricked from time to time.

Like the Saints just did.

That's fine, but it is as if the Saints just gave up following the non-call.

Those bend-over-and-take-it "fans" who excuse the poor officiating and say shite like, "Well, we should have played well enough to overcome bad calls" sicken me. They just don't seem to get the fact that in a tight game against top competition, such as in a matchup in the NFC championship, all it takes to throw the game one way or another is one horrendously bad call or no-call. It's hard enough defeating a top-notch opponent with similar talent, it's nearly impossible to overcome a key bad call by the officials at a key moment late in a game. It's the officials jobs to get it right, especially in championship games. If they can't get it right, like in the game today, they need to be fired for not doing their job.

gave up how? saints were near mid-field in OT. fowler made a good play and affected drew's throw. then rams only needed a couple firsts to try a really long FG. once you get to OT, the game becomes a toss-up. it should have never gotten to that point with competent officials

He was set to catch it in stride. There was nobody between him and the goal line. He would’ve walked in.

The Rams DB admitted that he interfered with him on purpose for just that reason.
