there are a zillion worse 100 million qbs in the league now.. and brees was severely underpaid his entire tenure in new orleans and brought us a championship.

also most of the money is front loaded in the first two years of the contract.. so get the frick over it. the saints have now won 12 games this season.

If you're going to call people out, get your facts straight. Brees' contract is extremely backloaded, not front loaded.

Name some games where Brees was directly/soley responsible for a loss. One where he had tons of time in the pockets, wide open receivers, and a supportive running game....but he just couldn't get it done. We got manhandled as a team in Seattle and St Louis, so don't throw those out there.

FTR, I never once called for him to be benched, cut, or whined about his contract. But to pretend he hasn't struggled mightily on the road this year is living with blinders on.

You are comparing people frustrated in a game and calling them out when Brees plays a horrible half of football and then coming around and crowning him as amazing as if he brought the team back on his back with no help.

no crowning him. Strawman argument and you aren't even discussing their comments which is what this thread is about. You are coming here to blatantly defend stupidity.

Some people are idiots, but having another idiot calling them out like he's some great perveyor of knowledge is just as pathetic. You do realize how pathetic you look with this whole thing, right?

still waiting on that coherent argument that makes objective points.

No player in the history of football has been solely responsible for a loss

You know what I mean m'fer. Brees is far more the reason we win or are in a position to win than him being the reason we aren't.

Dude, he threw two INTs against the Rams that weren't pressured throws and were just horrible decisions that put the team behind 14 and then later 17 following the onside kick.

You can't just ignore that and say he played great.

In the end, he's played poorly in the last 5 road games and played poorly 6 of the 8 road games this season and was actually not great against ATL in the Thursday night game.

Brees' games on the road:

Tampa - 1 TD 2 INT
Chicago - 2 TD 0 INT
Patriots - 2 TD 1 INT
Jets - 2 TD 2 INT
Falcons - 2 TD 0 INT
Seattle - 1 TD 0 INT 1 FUMBLE
Rams - 1 TD 2 INT 1 FUMBLE
Carolina - 1 TD 2 INT

So he's had 12 TDs and 11 Turnovers on the road this season even if you could his good games. He's only 2 road games without a turnover.

In the end, he's played poorly on the road and it has been consistent.

My second comment was not an insinuation that brees would be gone, just echoing the discussion of how much longer payton would stay on after drew left, tried or whatever. I didn't clarify in that post because I totally forgot you were on this board.

I am pretty sure you can look up some game comments by a ton of people that were not wise, but most of them happen with emotion. Just like with people that blindly support/hate Miles, there were will be those who will defend Brees to no end or will eat him alive without reason.

I simply think that you, of all people, shouldn't be casting stones.

is this english. Drew has 3 more years on current contract that could even be resigned another year or two after that. How about we enjoy these years instead of getting ready for life without them 4 years from now or whatever the frick it was you were trying to echo.

sicboy... just use this as a lesson. I mean even your damn brother is agreeing with me.

Oh, I'm not saying, and nor is anyone else, that he hasn't had some games where he hasn't played to the standard that we've gotten spoiled to. But you in particular are acting as though he's been pathetic when you know he's been dealing with a porous line and taken the most hits than he has since he's been here. Playing on the road is tough for all teams....especially for a team that runs a tempo offense like ours. Yea, he's made some mistakes, but he's greatly responsible for the where we are now and will be a huge reason for when we whup Seattle's arse on Saturday. I don't know man.....I love the guy.

I have yet to hear a poster in this thread admit that they posted out of emotion and regret it.

some of us love him like he's our son. So through gayness, experimentation, rises, the falls, we accept him, live with him and would never turn our backs on him.

others love drew like a step kid. As in when they win the nobel peace prize you like oh yeah that's my kid but when they end up a crack whore in jail, u be like call your real dad....

If you can't see the failed strategy behind 3 straight passes (which by the way I think a disproportionate amount of our drive killing holding plays come on passing plays) when you're running the ball at will then you really are clueless
Did you watch the tape all week or not genius? Did you sit in the meetings and develop the game plan? Did you study ALL of Philly's tendencies? Did you then use that research to predict what each team would probably do on both offensive and defensive sides of the ball - for a full 60 minute game? Is that why you're so qualified to tell Payton how to call the game?

Some players have said Payton has been a bit rusty this year with his play calling. After a year out of the game I get that because it's a little bit different making these decisions on the sideline in the heat of the game than it is for us sitting at home with no pressure.

So, IMHO it is beyond ridiculous to come on here and pretend you know better than one of the best play callers in NFL history. But hey - that's just one man's opinion.
