I heard on the radio that Grubbs counts 9 mil against the cap next year, and Smith has a 13 million dollar option (which obviously won't be picked up). But shite man, 9 mil for Grubbs? Guy has vastly under performed.

Restructure Grubbs.. Smith is an obvious cut.

He has been servicable, but you are right he definitely has not performed up to his salary. Part of the problem has been the turrible tackle play though (in his defense).

CSP and ML will have to evaluate the entire line and attempt to discern who needs to go and who needs to stay.

No matter what is decided in the offseason....it is my belief that Drew will probably have to restructure in order to bring in more pieces via free agency. Not to mention...ML and CSP need to have a quality draft this year in all rounds. Wont be able to use up a pick on another project...too many holes.

No doubt. It's not like Drew is a spring chicken anymore....if he wants another Lombardi before he rides off into the sunset.....gotta have help.

Smith, Vilma and Harper are all obvious cuts. Drew will have to restructure on the offseason IMO. I thought he may wait until after next season, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.

The way Drew's contract was structured, this was the first year where a re-structure could even feasibly be done. He'll almost certainly do that this year.

He'll make the exact same amount of money, just ease the cap a little bit. That coupled with Will Smith, Vilma, and probably a few others like Harper, a Grubbs restructure, etc etc will give us enough to work with.

All I know is that Jimmy Graham will demand a boat load of money.

Will Smith
Roman Harper
Lance Moore
Jabari Greer
Broderick Bunkley
Maybe Grubbs

All gone at their current contracts.

one thing i have noticed on JG. He does not deserve top end WR money. He is a huge asset, and the best TE in the game. However, for him (if he does) demand Calvin Johnson type money, he's out of his mind. He can be, and has been completely erased from games. He drops passes a good bit, and has a tendency to get very gun shy why he gets physical competition in a game (Talib)
