Let's not count the players who have never played a down on your list.

quote:

Charles Woodson
Champ Bailey
Lavar Arrington
Roy Williams
Julius Peppers
Dwight Freeney
Glenn Dorsey
Chris Long
Rey Mauagula
Ndongmukong Suh

That's these guys.

Good/Great Players: Suh, Freeney, Peppers, Bailey, Woodson

Average: Mauagula (I guess), Long, Williams, Arrington, Long

Below Average: Dorsey

So if you go strictly from this list he has a 50% chance of being good/great, 40% average, 10% below average.

Obviously, but he was the best college player as seen by former winners. Its not a joke to win the thing. Its a class by itself.

Doesn't the media vote on the Heisman?

T'eo being a finalist only showed how bad this past year was for candidates but it doesn't diminish the award itself

yea, something like 840 media members vote and the past heisman winners is 54 or so. It's not a joke when you win it i guess, but i bet NFL players think its a joke or dont care about it

Actually, its both.

The fans also get 1 vote. Its an ESPN poll.

Do all of the past members get a vote or just the one who won the year before?

Dorsey would have been better used properly and still, very good quality for a 3rd round pick.

Hey, what do you guys think about the Heisman's predictability of future success in the NFL? I'll hang up and listen. TIA

Cops need to be out arresting criminals and not harrassing people just trying to get to work on time. Go bust some pot heads and leave us commuters alone.

TM7 was a game-changer at NB & PR, not just a playmaker.

He accounted for 14 TO's & 4 TD's, & he never allowed a single TD to be scored on him in his two year (26 game) career.

To discount his ball skills & football IQ because this 19 y/o kid routinely ignored sound advice & partied like the college rock star he was is misguided & near-sighted.

You haven't even touched on his swag, attitude, and ferociousness.

And those intangibles speak to his leadership. People gravitate around him and want to better their game.

Small example: The combine was for the most part a pretty boring event to watch each day. But when TM got on the field with the DB's, the combine intensity went a notch up. There was an aura of competiton with equal camaraderie amongst the guys. All rooting for each other but demanding each each guy does his best. And he was leading all that and it was infectious throughout the day.
