Carr’s career average: 355/550 (64.5%) for 3914 yds 24 TD 11 ints 29 sacks

Smells like more of the same from Saints QB room for 2023

Carr’s best years were with Gruden… Dennis doesnt have any Gruden level coaches in the facility

Board is suddenly full of people who have now decided to talk saints just to shite on any decision made. I knew the melts from the clueless would be glorious, just didn’t expect this many lurkers & new alts to suddenly come from no where

There aren't very many people melting.

This is one of those things where the sunshine pumpers today will be melting when the "I told you so's" reign supreme in a few years.

The only logically consistent the sunshine pumpers will be able to say is "this is what I wanted".

your comment is irrelevant. Numbers don’t lie … why should we expect anything different?

Who is melting in this thread? It looks like straight numbers. Someone can believe that this was a poor signing given the teams current issues and coaching/roster makeup without “melting.”

Carr was also apart of a BAD organization with multiple head coaches, coordinators. Heck they JUST this past yr got him a legit WR1. Let's see how it pans out before we throw him under the bus

I guess the difference is I have yet to see any sunshine pumpers saying this signing will have this team winning championships. But, I have seen a lot of people saying we are overpaying for more of the same, back to the old days of suckage... I'd have to assume that means missing playoffs since the team has missed the past 2 years and only made the playoffs 5 times in 39 years before Payton.

Adding Carr, and potentially MT, and you have a team that should be in the NFCCG on a regular basis for the next few years. Maybe they sneak into the SB. But I think they inability to go much further is more about the coaching staff than it is about Carr.

I was referring to the board as a whole, I just happened to be in this thread when I made the statement.

Carr was given Adams and Jacobs then still ended up on the bench.

Not sure what you think the saints could do. Last year was the year to go cheap at qb and try to get our cap situation in better shape like I said. Now we paying an 8 figure cap penalty for Winston. And Allen is in a do or die season to win.

Good QBs don’t grow on trees. It usually cost significant draft capital to get one off another team or to move up in the draft to get one.

Carr is what he is, he’s not elite but he’s pretty much in the same tier as the best QBs in the NFC. There is no Burrow, Mahomes, Burrow, Lamar etc to go through. If the saints can nail their draft picks, and some our young previous high draft picks make a jump, we can make some noise. Our division is shite and our schedule is pretty easy this year.

Biggest issue is I don’t have confidence in Allen as a HC.

I mean that is a good bit of pumping when you have this shitty coaching staff and quite a few roster holes. It’s not like we added Mahomes or Allen.

Our rosters aren’t anywhere close to SF and Philly. Maybe we should have a winning season before we start writing ourselves into the title game multiple times

Dude, thinking that adding a 32 year old QB with no playoff wins and expecting him to lead the Saints to the NFC CG “on a regular basis”, with a receiver that hasn’t played for 3 seasons with an ankle sprain, an aging defense, and arguably a bottom 5 head coach of all time

Is the absolute epitome of sunshine pumping bullshite homerism for absolutely no reason.

With all due respect.

And for most of the season all he had was Adams & Jacobs. He also has a HC that has a history of having average offenses when he's a HC and a history of mediocrity. Maybe it wasn't all on Carr

I don`t know if Carr is going to be an improvement or not.
But the Saints had a QB named Manning who was a great talent
and only played on BAD teams. If he had been drafted by
Dallas or LAR he would have been all world.Lets all take a
step back and see how it goes.

They got him an all-time WR who he shite the bed with while simultaneously having the league’s leading rusher sharing the backfield. Please be sure to include that context.

Sure, call it blind optimism or sunshine pumping. But, the landscape of the NFC does not have many teams that should have people concerned. I think SF falls back in the records once they turn it back to Lance, then they're about to lose their safety net and will need to rely on a season of Purdy as back-up if Lance gets injured again. Philly will continue to be the favorite in the NFC, and there is a lot of blah after that. I'll take the Saints over Minn, Dal, Sea...

You know who had VERY similar numbers before joining his current team?
