At the moment, I feel we've made a big mistake. I'm hoping we're somewhat healthy after the bye to at least see what he can do with most his players. Injuries have been brutal this season.

I feel like this should be in the New Orleans Saints mission statement.

Yep. Even with a great coach, they went 9-8 bc of Covid/injuries.
I'd love to be pleasantly surprised with a 3-1 post-bye run bc I think we keeping him regardless... might as well hope he figures it out

Well to be fair the Raiders usually are one of the most penalized team no matter who the coach is it seems like I apologize for not showing any statistical proof for that but that usually seems to be the case.
But yeah I mean you look at what he's done as a head coach and how things are going right now and I don't know how anyone can keep a straight face and save it he's going to be able to turn this thing around.

There's really no justification to keep him next season imo, but still, I think he'll be back

They were the most penalized team the two years before. But they got worse from year one to year two under Allen. Also, it’s hard to ignore that we are the 2nd most penalized team this year.
And this doesn’t take into account the turnovers.
Turnovers and penalties typically show how disciplined a team/coach is.

I have been of the opinion that he was going to be given another year. But it’s likely we go 1-3 out of the bye and that should warrant termination. 2-2 is questionable, but we would have to look really good.
We are about to see what the players think of Allen. Because they are basically playing for his job at this point IMO.

IMO he was hired because the team will need a season or two, maybe more to clean up its salary cap situation. No good coach is going to come into this situation and turn it around with no money for FA's, so let Allen steer the ship through the storm. In a few years (hopefully by 2025 for sure) the cap space will be there, hopefully er strike gold on some rookie talent and with 3-4 years of bad football letting Allen go will be easier, AND the team will be more attractive to potential young up and coming coaching and GM talents.
Just my thought on the situation.

Should’ve hired Mike McDaniel. Instead we hired this retread loser. What a time to be a Saints fan.

A few of us were pushing for MM but Allen was pretty popular when it happened. Honestly not sure why MM would’ve picked us over Miami though.

To who? All I remember was people pissed of for how lazy the hire was because he is a horrid head coach.

I can go bump the thread, many on here were happy with the hire or thought he ‘deserved’ the chance.
Sad thing, three offensive coaches look to be solid hires, the Vikings giants and dolphins coaches. Dont think we interviewed any of the three. And we finished with a better season last year than all three.
That doesn’t look good on Loomis at all. We just interviewed minority coaches and retreads and didn’t interview the best retread at all in Harbaugh.

The Saints have only been awful once in the last 22 seasons, the Katrina season is the only time we've been worse than 7-9. No hurricane close to us this year and we're complete shite. Dennis Allen is the coaching equivalent of a natural disaster.

That is just wrong to put Saturday in there at 1-3

I thought he'd stop being a loser and learn something from his time under CSP. Boy was I fricking wrong. I guess once a loser always a loser.

Blame injuries all you want. You getting the same result next year too. Fully healthy or not. Allen literally ruined this team in one offseason. Especially the defense.

Looks like Saints have the right guy compared to that list.

In fairness to this guy, he was in Cleveland when a resurrected Vince Lombardi, with Dick Vermeil as his OC and Don Shula as his DC couldn’t have won there. 32 wins is a decent accomplishment.
