Zion's effort and fitness
PUB
Hundreds of millions to a fat lazy player that mentally is no where close to being a generational player.
What I see in Zion is still a inmature person who doesn't bring it everynight. Being sick was no excuse on Sunday especially after a game like Friday. Why can't he bring that every game? It's called professionalism and he still needs to learn it. These players are babied. I've seen no one call him out on it either. Just look at the game Sunday...dude gave no effort and we lose. Now look at Friday...totally different Zion and we win. Zion left the guards out to dry on alot of rebounds.
We need to get rid of BI or Zion they can't co-exist on the court. As must as it pains me to say. I see jealousy on both when the other gets going...both can be selfish and hurt the team.

This is the logical disconnect that I don't get, have never understood. No one can objectively look at Zion and ask themselves, is this supposed to work? There is no case in NBA history where someone of his dimensions, physique or play style has ever had success long term. It just doesn't happen.
So what should he do? That is obvious for any casual observer of the sport. He needs to lean out dramatically. He needs to be fanatical about his diet, conditioning and play style.
Here is another truth bomb. He's not a PF. He's not a big, period. He is physical wing. That's what's crazy about how this team is constructed. We have 6 good-great players. 4 wings and 2 combo guards. That's just not a smart plan..

I mean this is true. He isn't a pf. That is why he is hard to build around.

I know what I'm getting from BI on 99% of nights. I have no idea what I'm getting from Zion no 99% of nights. You can't build around that, especially with a player that requires an unbalance roster around them.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Zion is a super-powered Tyreke Evans.

Really? Damn, I don't. Is he going to shoot 9 3's or is going to shoot 3 3's? Is he going to be a -3 tonight or a -23? His impact on games varies just as much if not more than Zion's. I know that this board is filled with posts bashing Zion for the last two games (as well it should, he was not good in those 2 games), but the team was a combined +2 when he was on the floor over the 2 games and a combined -26 when Ingram was on the floor. The team has fallen apart without Zion or Murray on the floor this year. Zion has to be better, but Zion is 100% the player you build around.

Hold the presses! A team is considerably worse without 2 of their 3 best players!

Coming from the BI is a max player guy. Hell of a hill to die on my man. By the way, thanks for the great counterpoints to my argument. It just kind of proves my point more that despite how much you like him, Ingram just doesn't impact enough to deserve the money he wants and since he doesn't mesh with our best player, he should be gone at the first opportunity.

Yet they don't fall apart when Zion is on the court by himself. It's almost like he impacts the game more.
