Zion vs. Julius Randle

Their games are so damn similar. Be stronger than your opponent and bully them at the rim. Yes, Zion is a bit more explosive, but some of that changes at the next level.
I’m really not sure Zion is worth all the fuss in a guard/wing dominant league. Unless he can shoot lights out from 3 and the mid-range then I’m gonna pass on him with Randle on our team

A much, much more more explosive Randle with excellent defense and higher BBall IQ would be pretty amazing.

I tried to make this comparison before and people didn’t like it. I guess it’s hard for Pels fans to imagine what a high BBIQ player that plays defense looks like It would turn Randle from a 6th man to a star.

Also, I would give Zion a much better chance at developing a legit 3-point shot. I kinda feel like Zion’s best chance at becoming a star is he can make the switch to SF. Wasn’t Jimmy Butler a PF in college?

I’ve had similar concerns a few months ago. But Zion is so fricking good.

I’m not so sure why people sre particularly
Concerned about Randle’s basketball IQ.
He’s makes some pretty heady plays, imo.

I had plenty of concerns about Zion before the season started and I actually got to see him play. He put every single one of those concerns to rest.
Show me something he can't do and I'll show you how you're wrong. Anyone who still doesn't understand how dynamic and transcendent this guy is, simple has not watched him play.

Zion’s athleticism, defensive capacity, intangibles, and BBIQ are on another level. Like AD or Lebron before him, there are players that share some characteristics and style, but these are ultimately transformative players the league has honestly never seen.
This is the sort of take that reminds me of short sighted people that were calling AD a slightly better Anthony Randolph.

AD compared to Randolph is not remotely close to a Zion vs Randle discussion. Get real.
Lonzo was touted of having above average BBIQ, insane vision/passing ability, and great athleticism. He couldn’t shoot. We see how that worked out so far. Lol at that #1 pick. I’m not comparing Lonzo to Zion but consensus #1 picks aren’t always show ins to be the next Lebron or AD

Y’all are too stuck on traditional positions.
Think about who will be trying to guard Zion. Either someone too small or someone too slow. Not many can match his athleticism. Can probably guard 3 to small ball 5

Watching Randle at Kentucky vs watching Zion at Duke, there’s just no comparison between these guys at 18. Williamson makes everything look so effortless even against top level competition. Usually players who plays at another level in college especially at 18 tend to translate well into the league. Hes head and shoulders above the rest of the field for a reason. He’s that good of a prospect.

Lonzo Ball was the # 2 overall pick.

Being black and left handed are about the only comps with Randle
He’s more Blake Griffin, Ben Simmons, giannis

AD wasn't compared to Randolph. He was compared to Garnett and Camby.
