I like Bridges as a player. I do not like that he beat the crap out of his girlfriend and tried to kill her via strangulation. Yes, I know the charges were dropped. That's what happens when the victim gets paid off. I would rather not be put in the position of rooting for him to succeed. I will not opine as to whether Gayle would approve of Bridges as she loves pedophiles.

Brooklyn has the #8, 19, 26 & 27 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. They have their own 2026 first rounder. I would trade Zion for #8 overall, #26 and their 2026 first if that's the best they would offer. They will likely want protections on the 2026 pick since they will suck. But I just want Zion out the door.

Look at Willie wanting to fight. I hope Joe can bring that back in him.

Good point. I just don’t know that they value a rookie that also didn’t win (even in college) in Bailey.

I was just trying to illustrate that I believe Zion still has value to some teams. It wouldn’t be a historic trade haul, but it would be enough to move on from Zion, for me. And also have hope we can develop whoever we get in his place.

BR mentioned pick 8 and some other draft assets from Brooklyn. I don’t think that would be bad either. They also have Cam Thomas floating on that team as a potential salary matching piece and CJ McCollum replacement.

We are on the same page Galactic. We are both ready to move on from Z, even if it’s not a can’t miss haul.

Unfortunately it looks like Dumars has his head up his arse like Griffin did and is going to do the “1 more year” route that we have been doing the last 4/5 years w Z.

Yeah, this is illustrating how little value Zion has around the league. We just floated the guy and not a single team indicated interest. Let that sink in. Lazy Fat needs to let it sink in, too, because he no longer entices teams like the Knicks.

100% correct. We just keep getting slapped around when we try to leave.

Yeah ok. Haliburton would have done same thing.

Daniels needs to act like a Pelicans announcer not like Ryan Clark. At least you still got Graff.

R.I.P. Gil and Gerry V. They were best in business.

This is why -- the potential is still there. It's obvious that Dumars was specifically hired to try to turn the page with Zion and hold him accountable to achieve that potential.

You’d be trading him for about 25 cents on the dollar

25 cents on the dollar is better than a dime, which is what we get when he only plays in 8 games before the trade deadline.

They aren’t trading him prior to the season, because he’s the only draw to sell the pittance of tickets.

There is no hope it’s time to sell the team.

I don’t think other people can truly hold other people accountable (especially when 1 person is worth about $400 Million and he got to that point, by not trying much over the past 6 years).

It’s about Z holding himself accountable to get light enough to where it isn’t an absolute dice roll whether he gets injured or not. Also, improving his skill and game style to the point where he isn’t reliant on all paint, all the time.

My guess, that healthy weight is probably about 230. Which he isn’t getting to. We’ve tried for 6 years. Time to move on and sell his “potential” to a team missing the final piece.

I think Z might have 2-3 years left of “prime”. At this rate, we are going to hold onto to him until we get a Sato and Temple package for him. Right now, I think he has actual value as he played some nice ball in the last 2 months of the season, is 265 ish pounds, and has a completely unguaranteed contract. I actually saw a Celtics writer suggest that the Celtics should trade Jaylen Brown for Zion, a first, and a Milwaukee pick swap, and then waive Zion as a solution to get out from under their luxury tax issue.

As much as Z says he loves “hooping” and “winning”, the proof is quite literally in the pudding. He values 4-5 other things over playing winning basketball and it will likely always be the case.

Is the board finally coming around to my way of thinking? I said he should be at 235lbs years ago and got roasted.

It's just logical watching him play. He's not a big. He doesn't play like one and it's dumb to try to play him like one. He's a powerful wing. I saw someone else say it and it made so much sense, he's basically Dwayne Wade, just way bigger. He can't (or doesn't) shoot. So don't force it. If we keep him, he's our 2/3. But he has to keep getting lighter.

Zion last played a basketball game on March 19th. That is 68 days ago. That is almost 10 weeks. If he weighed 270 lbs on that day, he could easily be at 250 lbs right now (2 lbs a week). We go to camp on October 1st. That is 127 days from now or about 18 weeks. That is a massive amount of time. There is no reason he should be over 250 at that time. None.

I’ve always been team Z under 270

I think I just realized the past year or 2, that to truly prevent injury, he’s going to have to be much much lighter than that and completely change his game style.

We know he’s unwilling to do neither, so we should have moved on years ago.

Idk why he still has so much support from our fanbase. He’s literally done nothing to help the team or its overall stature or reputation the past 6 years.

He was never getting down to 235, that's why you're struggling to find support. If you said 250#, that would be more reasonable. I think the disconnect was that some people refused to believe how heavy he really was for much of his tenure. He was likely in the 325-range at times, and people were arguing over 285.
