Combine that with NBA Ja Morant actually playing like and having Duke Zion type energy and it’s even worse.
No, it's not. Ja shouldn't have anything to do with how you feel about Zion.

Donovan Mitchell, who has averaged over 23 points in his four seasons with the Utah Jazz said: “Jasper is an incredible strength coach, trainer, and friend. He’s continuously finding ways to motivate his players. He helped me tremendously with my strength and conditioning. He’s a great motivator! He finds ways to get the best out of his athletes, and he’s definitely help me become the player who I am today.”
Royce O’Neale, who has played close to 300 games the last four seasons for the Jazz said this of Bibbs: “LSU is getting one of the best strength coaches in the game right now. Jasper has helped with my personal development in the weight room and with transforming my body to help me stay healthy and compete at the highest level during my time in the NBA.”

Contrast that with whats going on in Memphis, and its just misery.
they are going to get their arse kicked for a week or so.
down two starters and a 6th man.
i wish nba would bubble the last two weeks of season and the playoffs.

A twice fired of recent trainer is in charge of the entire future of our organization... gee... no idea...

Again I actually like Zion, but I’m not going to lie to myself. Watch NBA Ja. That is Duke Zion in a point guard’s body.
Health is the only question, because Zion is a few levels above Morant in his on the court play.
And to top it off, the Pelicans with Zion on the court are still better than the Grizzlies with Ja on the court, so there's that too.

cant blame him.
they are linked like Eli and the charger.
no 3 days go by without some reminder.
one part is morant is good and getting better.
and his team is good
so hes in the news in positive ways. i think they are like 22 and 4 recently too.

But they’re really not though
No one in their right mind was taking Ja that night first. Every single GM who would have, was also gone

C'mon man have you been watching NBA this year? Griz are 31-15 and the 3 seed right now with more young talent than us and possibly a better coach. They are exactly what we want to be: A young team with a young superstar that drafted well and surrounded Ja with really good talent. If you're not at least a little jealous of the Griz then you're not being honest or not paying attention.

While Memphis has played well, still believe they are overachieving similarly to Atlanta last year.
They have 9 legitimate players on their roster and of those 9, only 1 player shoots below 40%. They're also playing some damn good defense (7th) still.
Do I think they're an up-and-coming team that is a annual playoff team, absolutely.
Do I think they're the 3rd best team in the west, currently yes...realistically no.

shite they even went on like a 10 game win streak WITHOUT Ja. And they were winning without JJJ

another covid season.
its not like the bubble.
memphis lost today.
no bane.
no anderson.
brooks already out.
so you never know if a team will be the names you expect.
the playoffs will be weird.

As good as they are this season, they have a +2.8 net rating with Ja on the court. Zion for his career is +2.5 when he's on the court.
As I've pointed out many times, the difference in the 2 players and their teams performance takes places when both are off the court, because Memphis is so much deeper and has a better team than we do.
But again, statistically and factually we are better when Zion plays than Memphis is when Ja plays.

I’ll still take Ja over Zion at this point. Much better leader. Dude has embraced Memphis with open arms. Plus the obvious in regard to him staying healthier than Zion.

quote:Just status quo with many on this site. If it involves Zion, it has to be negative and many have to find something to complain about him for it.
How are y'all taking this so negatively? We don't know why he didn't work out at LSU, and as long as it wasn't for being a bad trainer, I'm not sure we care. He was a trainer with a legit, well run NBA team for 4 years.
Even though he's not officially with the Pels him being with the team in November and December says either the team hired him or Zion likes him, or both.
I don't see this information as good or bad. It just says Zion is working with a real NBA trainer, which is what you'd expect.

So he is getting millions from the team to just do whatever his fat slob a— wants to?

No, he's getting millions to rehab his foot so that he can return and play basketball for the Pelicans.
Glad I could help you with that question.
