I know you didn't watch last night, but the majority of ingrams middies now, if not the vast majority, are because the play broke down and we need him to bail us out. I'm OK with that.
I think it was you and I replying to each other a couple of days ago, and I pointed out he's still getting the same amount of shots at the rim, so that is good, and that may suggest small sample size and the FT rate will eventually come.
I'm merely pointing out that I'd like to see it all come to fruition and see the increased efficiency before I assume everything is solved. Again, like the Zion thing...Let's just let the dudes do it, then we can all rejoice that they're actually doing it.

if Missi can be a quality starter
I don't think this is even an IF anymore. I was down on him after summer league, he was timid and not playing with force. In hindsight he was clearly trying to get his bearings. The progression he has shown since backs up everything the team has said about him being a sponge.
20 year olds having flashes of brilliance against real NBA players is significant. We knew Dyson was going to be special when he was able to defend star players at 19 years old. Missi's flashes so far have been that footwork from last night, that block on Clingan, not because he blocked a bigger player dunking it, but because it was a 2nd effort after his first effort lead him out of bounds, and finally, Missi already being the best screen setter of the Griff era.
Having the physical tools is one thing, having the natural instincts to use them well is another. It's the difference between the center we've been looking for and Jaxson Hayes.

Missi has looked great
I still worry about when we get into the legit front courts on the schedule. Best to get your feet wet now young buck

Here is Willie talking about Missi guarding 3 different people on the same play. That’s the way you remain a starter.

And we aren't seeing all of Missi's potential impact.
We saw the potential in the Bulls game of the Dejounte - Missi pick and roll, but of course, we haven't seen that since, since no one else on the team is an elite P&R originator.
The little bit that we saw, though, was beautiful. It was enough to convince me that Missi has the potential to be much more than "good enough" as a center for us -- he has the potential to be a real offensive weapon.
The biggest question is how well can he ultimately learn to shoot. His FT% in college was just 61%. The shooting is the difference between him being good and being great.
