Would you rather go: 9-2 (no play in) or 2-9?

Its that simple:

Would you rather go...

9-2, we do not make the play in, but we end the season on a really high note, winning games and playing well.

or

2-9 and we pick up 2-3 spots in the lottery.

Brain tells me 2-9 but the last time we were eliminated from the playoffs this time of year and finished strong, we were rewarded with Zion

oh come on.

suppose 9 and 2 gets a "playin playin" tied for 10th.

to answer the actual, 2 and 9. moves you solidly into the 30% chance at 1.1 to 1.4.

9 and 2 might push you out of lottery entirely.

I think that depends on how they get to 9-2. If Lonzo and Bledsoe get hot from 3, not interested. If NAW and Didi get added to the mix and the team wins with more hustle and defense leading to the Pels starting training camp with more buy-in from returning players, I'll take that.

You have 2 more years before that's discussed.

Answering as a fan that's in the moment, 2-9 for the lotto balls.

Answering as a fan that's looking ahead and what would be better for the team, 9-2, finishing on a high note

I tend to lean this way.

I think it matters more how we do it and with who.

pick 8th in the draft, get rid of Lonzo and Bledsoe and start fresh next season with guys that want to be here.

Well there is no way in hell this team goes 9-2 lol. Did they go anywhere near 9-2 at any part of the season? Legit question.

I get the optimistic approach here I just don't trust this core consistency and overall character. Not calling anyone here trash, but I think this team has ALOT of maturing to do and for alot of guys here things won't "click" for them until they are on their second or third team.

Finishing the season on a high note will piss me the frick off, because we have seen this franchise dick tease for years only to come back next year and lay an egg or get bit by the injury bug.

What's more likely? Obtaining a decent pick for trade asset or getting more talent, or being stuck in mediocrity in the off season and this team coming back next year complacent and not committing to winning basketball?

That's how I approach things. Have HONEST conversations about reality vs what I hope or want to happen.

The Honest situation will be what I predicted, Bledsoe and Lonzo will continue to play good, we finish the season with a 7-4 record and shite pick, Zo fans and poor Pels fans try to sell Lonzo finishing strong to "run it back" and we struggle to trade Bled so Optimism Griff and emotional abused fan based make them selves believe Bled has "figured " it out and will be a difference maker next season.

Whatever makes Zion happy. Don't think a 9th or 10th pick vs a 14th pick is going to be a big difference in this draft.

9-2. You win if you can win and give the team something to build on. I do t see us getting a top 5 pick this year regardless and must experts say it’s a 5 player class as far as the upper tier and then the rest so wether we pick 9th or 10th or 13th probably won’t matter that much. Besides if we really wanted to move up we have more than enough picks to do it.

You probably are right somewhat here, but that's assuming we have a great scouting department.

I don't agree. If it happens because Ingram is playing better defense or Zion is rebounding better or NAW comes back and is better than ever, then I'm happy.

If it happens because Bledsoe and/or Adams plays amazing basketball, then I am also happy, as it means that he/they is easier to trade.

Winning is always better, unless you are starting at zero, and we are not at ground zero.

It doesn’t matter the lottery is rigged so the Pelicans will get number 1 overall to build onto the Zion hype train. Zion in the playoffs is great for ratings.

This isn't a "what do you think is going to happen" thread, it's a what do you want to happen thread. I want that elusive maturing to happen over the next several weeks, and while they're at it, let the hustle guys take minutes from Lonzo and Bledsoe so there's no doubt those 2 shouldn't be back.

What do I think is going to happen? The team is a shade over .500 in the Point Zion era when both Zion/BI play, I expect that to continue and they'll finish around 6-5 if those 2 play the rest of the way.

To me the biggest factor in the Pels lottery odds aren't the Pels, but the battle for 10 in the East. Hopefully that goes down to the wire and Washington, Chicago and Toronto all outpace the Pels down the stretch.
