Wood is exactly the stretch 4 we need next to Zion

Why did we cut him again?

He asked to be released
Griff didn't choose to cut him

He asked to be released because he saw the writing on the wall with who Griff was committed to, bringing in Melli, Okafor, Zion, then Favors.
It was and is still one of the few mistakes Griff has made, but it is one.

I don’t think you know what stretch 4 means
Posted on 2/8/20 at 2:23 pm to Pelefraan 1
wood is not in any way a stretch 4.
he asked to be released so he could play elsewhere.
what else you got?

Hopefully zion develops past a player that fans are imagining playing significant minutes with bench players.

Wood was #2 for me behind Kenrich on the “fringe players we should keep” list. He didn’t want to be behind Favors/Zion/Hayes/Oak, so they appeased him.
I’m not convinced that Griff would have kept Frank Jackson over Christian Wood in a vacuum.
At the end of the year last year, this dude was absolutely dominating small stretches of games on both ends of the floor.

Melli or Niko or Ryno
A power forward with 3pt range
Having said that, it's probably a starting stretch 5 like Lopez that we need more

Yeah that’s not what wood is

I got hammered, childishly I might add, for saying this was the first bad move Griffin has made back in July.
I also said Wood is now what we hope Jaxson Hayes becomes and anything more than that is icing. Heads exploded. Sample size isn’t quite big enough for confirmation of this.....soon.

I don't think it's any time soon tbh

I’m so glad you’re not our GM

10 points in 18 minutes over 50 games. Christian Wood is The Future.....

Now let’s look at the stats once he was inserted into the starting lineup.

He ain’t movin the needle for this team.
Be happy with the good players on the roster.
