Being reported that they’re looking to trade it for a win now player to put alongside towns and russel. Jrue would fit in that mold. Not sure just jrue would be enough but who or what else would you throw in to sweeten the deal? Or would you even do it for jrue straight up if they agreed? Jrue and 14 should be a fairly even trade in this years draft

Also who would be your pick at #1??

This draft is just not that good, so I'm not sure what level of player they would actually get back.

I do not think we are in play here. We definitely are looking at veteran HC and we are looking to win games.

I don't think Griffin would be interested at this point, even if he probably should be given that Jrue has a season left.

No way am I giving up Jrue for just that pick in a meh draft.Even more so if I have to give up more than Jrue. Would have to work out a multiple team trade for me to consider it.

So you’d risk him leaving when his contract is up and get nothing?

Trading him now for the #1 pick isn't the only option. You can try signing him to an extension, you can trade him during the season.

Its not a matter of what we want though, its just that Griffin is unlikely to trade Jrue unless he's getting a comparable vet or vets back.

We’d have some sort of agreement with Jrue on an extension before we even have to worry about that. If he wants to go, then we can talk trades. But I don’t see him wanting to go to the Wolves and I don’t think just the #1 pick is worth it for him.

This is going to be an interesting offseason. There will probably be enough movement and need of facilitators to sneak a Favors S&T into a deal if we can line up another starting center.

Jrue for Culver and #1 would be a deal.

Then flip #1 and #13 to NYK for #8, 2 future unprotected NYK 1st's and Barrret.

Now you're talking. Getting anything in a S&T for Favors, even 2nd round picks, would be a coup.

First, you could do it all in one trade since it would likely be done after the draft with teams choosing for each other.

2nd, even the Knicks aren't giving up that much to move up 7 spots in this mediocre draft.

Yeah I don’t think Knicks are giving up 2 future first AND Barrett. But I do think they’d want Lamelo.. a lot.

Well it would have to be a 3 team deal for us to take on the Barret salary.

Barret was drafted by the previous regime and he played horribly. This regime could see getting #1 and #13 in this draft would be worth giving up Barrett #8 and 2 future picks (in future picks I'm aiming for 2021 and 2024 or 25). Thats not even close to an overpayment, especially if you believe in your organization and think you will make the playoffs in a weak Eastern Conference.

A 30 yr old Jrue with 1 year of contract isn’t getting the #1 overall pick regardless of the quality of the draft. But at the same time, I would feel short changed giving up 13 and Jrue namely because I just don’t see a great fit with Zion/BI at the top of this draft.

The Cavs gave up Wiggins, who was a consensus #1, and a 1 year into his career previous year #1 pick Anthony Bennett for Kevin Love.

I think Jrue can net the #1 pick this year, although I would think he would have to agree to some kind of contract extension for Minny to pull the trigger on that.

I would without a doubt do that, although i'd ideally rather trade the #1 pick to NYK, along with Lonzo, for #8 and their '21 1st.

Pels need the same type players they need, win now not another high draft pick that takes 2-3 yrs to contribute

I could maybe, maybe see them accepting only if they are really low on the draft, desperate enough, and know that barring a turnaround they will just be tanking and selling off Kat for a haul in the next couple seasons anyways.

As for Kevin Love, at that time he was a 25 year old guy coming off a crazy 26-13-4 season and they were bringing back Lebron who was truly only in it to win it. Jrue is going on thirty and had a pretty down year compared to his last few, will be looking for one last big payday that could be really problematic on the back end.

I also don’t think Jrue simply helps us out in trading him and would ever commit to the Wolves unconditionally like that. Wolves would just have to risk it and I think that alone likely makes them very hesitant.

Hate to break it to you but our window is not win now. Last season confirmed that. We are several seasons away from truly competing unless we go make a CP3 type trade and hope his supposed magical vegan diet keeps his body together a few more seasons so we don’t end up holding the grenade that is that contract when it goes off.

The best we’re looking at in the next 2 ish years is a first round playoff exit. Win now would not be smart imo. At least if we deplete our future assets
