Woj: Brogdon really could be available

Woj: Asked about whether Bucks go 1/3, 2/3, or 3/3 in retaining their main free agents (Khris Middleton, Malcolm Brogdon, and Brook Lopez), Woj says maybe 2/3 and points out Brogdon as the one that may be hard to retain. Lowe says either 2/3 or 3/3 with Brogdon being tough...

On the @wojespn / @ZachLowe_NBA special on ESPN, they say Milwaukee is going to have a walk away number for Malcolm Brogdon. Expectation is he will receive an offer sheet of $20+ million annually.
No teams mentioned, but Suns can create enough room by trading Jackson or Johnson.
This is going to be interesting to monitor to see who offers him. I think he'd be a home run for most teams. I know New Orleans has Ball, Holiday and NAW, but adding a 50/40/90 guy to the first two would give y'all the best two-way backcourt in the league by a mile. Three guys that can do it already on both ends, and then NAW could develop into a fourth.

With the amount of money teams have to spend, I think this is guaranteed.

Most people here would love Brogdon on the team, but we just don’t have room for him anymore. Plenty of starting opportunities in the league but we don’t really have one.

I really like Brogdon, but i'm not paying him that much.
I'd rather see what Lonzo can do for us.

he will definitely get offers above 20.
I would be be pissed if I was a bucks fan and they had a walk away number in mind for him though. The only thing keeping them from bringing everyone back is tax money
frick that
the billionaires can afford it and a ring is right there waiting to be taken

Brogdon would likely limit who we could afford as a big as well as cause even more minutes issues as we try to figure out how to get Jrue, Ball, Ingram, NAW, etc, onto the court.
Good player, not as great a fit for us as before the draft and Davis trade.

It blows my mind they prioritized Bledsoe over him.

The money is concentrated in a handful of teams. I hope that someone like New York ties up $20M in Brogdon. There are going to be a lot of bargains out there.

We would probably have to use whatever exception we have if we get Horford. Or if they are really bargain vet mins.

Right, I had both feet in on getting Brogdon before the Trade, and still would like him but we just dont have the Room. Unless We decide wed rather use him as a 6th man subbing in at point and shooting guard and at times run him out there as our SF with Jrue and Lonzo. But then are You taking Ingram Out of the lineup for Brogdon or putting ingram at Pf a little more often, which im not a fan of that idea. But one thing i will say is all these teams that are legit Contenders have guys that wed consider starters on the bench bc we arent used to having any kind of depth or a full lineup of quality players. The legit teams had guys like George Hill, Andre, Mirotic, jalen brown, Marcus Morris, Van Fleet, Sabonis, Ibaka coming off the bench. So if we decided to pony up a big contract for him and have him come off the bench with Hart, NAW, Jahlil and whoever else we end up having to give us a Legit 2nd unit im not mad at that. But I KNOW it aint happening, just sayin. Niko off the Bench as 6th man would be awesome and more realistic though

I just don't see the need to balance the team as being urgent. If we think there is value in him at 20 per and we are one of few teams with space, you sign him.
Lonzo is an asset on a cheap contract. He can be traded at a later time, possibly for the piece you need.

May need to take that into consideration and ask why.
Brogdon isn’t a fit unless we have a trade for Ball. I’d rather keep
And develop Ball on his current contract and sign Horford.

Trajan has had luck in the past finding value with Harris and Dinwiddie. I have said it before, but I don't think we have any plans to sign a max type free agent.
There are 200 free agents. That's 40% of the NBA. 14 teams have meaningful cap space and several teams will save that money or use it on 1 or 2 players. This gets amplified if guys like Kyrie, Horford, KD, Kawhi, end up changing teams eating up cap space without opening a ton for their former teams.
This is the summer to get good bargains on players above the MLE and then between MLE and minimum.

Lonzo versus Brogden is a no brainer in Brogdens favor. This board is retarded as frick, lonzo is not as good as brogden. Cant stay healthy, and cant shoot.

Brogdon is a great fit
He can come off the bench as your 6th man, he plays the 1-3, and he would be in our closing lineup of Ball/Jrue/Brogdon/Ingram/Zion
That closing lineup would be killer, all 5 guys can switch and cover pretty much anyone, and they can all score (Ball can get to the rim when he wants)

Khris Middleton
One of my favorite non pelican players in the NBA. Such a good player. If Ingram can be Middleton im a happy dude.
