Pelicans source: Right now Dell Demps (and Danny Ferry, who’s very much involved in all aspects of Anthony Davis trade situation) are NOT taking Lakers offer @BA_Turner first reported. Some in Pels organization want LA deal. I’m told NOLA believes it can get Tatum this summer.

If you believe Fletch for even a second (which you shouldn't), the fact that some in the Pels want LAL offer would be troublesome.

Hopefully the Pels are just using Fletch to get out the info they want.

here we go!

LaVar Ball tells ESPN that if Lonzo Ball is traded, he wants his son to go to Phoenix: “We want to be in LA. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”

Of course AD wants the deal.

There does seem to be a LOT of smoke re: Lonzo to Phoenix.

Could be LAL trying to do what the Pels requested, ie acquiring better assets.

If anything Lavar is helping us out with this if we do a deal with the Lakers. I honestly feel we can get the suns pick for ball

Regardless of how all this ends up, it would be absolutely fricking hilarious if Lavar Ball is the one the prevents the Lakers from getting AD.

The reason you are taking Beasley and Stephenson is because they are on 1 year deals. They are expiring contracts. For whatever reason, the Pels are trying to free up cap relief . The salaries in the trade also have to add up as well.

But at least they didn't compare him to Durant......

speaking of durant, i've felt all along that he will play a bigger part in all this, other than just straight up signing with NYK. as much as the focus is on AD now, KD is the better player, has gotten his rings, has plenty of good years left, and its KD that could shift the entire league balance, again.

what if he wants BOS?

LINK

quote:

League sources have told me that KD has expressed interest in joining the Celtics. (I think I sufficiently buried the lede.) If you take a step back, that shouldn't be a shock. It's generally believed that the Celtics were Durant's second choice in 2016 and more than a few observers feel that had the Warriors won the '16 title Durant would be a Celtic now. The Celtics would obviously be amenable to this too; Durant has long been the apple of Ainge's eye. If KD and Kyrie really do want to team up, why would they shackle themselves to James Dolan when an alternative exists? While Boston can't create the cap space to sign Durant, and can't reasonably acquire him via sign-and-trade (receiving a player via S&T invokes a hard salary cap that they would be hard-pressed to get under), there is another way.

lots of moving parts, but basically if KD is willing to opt in, BOS could offer hayward to GSW in a multi-team S&T, then trade for AD.

Why would GSW want Hayward with him hobbled and on a long term big money deal?

I know you don’t want a guy like Durant to walk for nothing but Haywood is worse than nothing from a cap perspective. They would have to bank hard on a major recovery.
