Woj 3rd team involvement I’m confused

Rob Pelinka and David Griffin, upon completion of Anthony Davis deal, had agreed that if a third team was looped into trade, teams would finalize on July 6. No third team wanted to wait until late July. Once Atlanta was brought in today, Pelinka was already on board.

Got it, so since a 3rd team wants their player at SB from the 4th pick, Lakers have no choice and have to eat the $ and do it on 6th.

This isn’t good. If they have a third team that agreed to take the players the lakers are looking to dump, then they might match the salary coming in (AD) and can go over the cap to give a max deal.
