I don't know about this. When we had that late season push and made that playoff run, Ingram was pretty special. Zion wasn't there. So the team rallied around him. If we can merge that Ingram with last December's Zion, that is a deadly combination. I just don't know if that is possible.
Says it all in the first line, if they want to do point Ingram like late last season, fine. Do it when Zion is not on the floor. It doesn’t work with Zion off ball. You cant have him just hover below the basket or sit in the corner. Only way I can see it working is if it is point Ingram working with Zion in the pick n roll.

But Denver, and other teams, don't really prioritize dunning their best offensively sets in preseason games.
That's true. But Denver also didn't come into the season saying that they want to explore Jokic off ball. And as awesome as Murray is, Denver almost never goes through a late game possession without Jokic touching the ball.
When Zion, Ingram, and CJ played together last year, Zion was 3rd on the team in shot attempts despite shooting nearly 70% from the floor. And even then, most of his shot attempts came when he was playing with reserves while Ingram was off of the floor. It wasn't until Ingram got hurt that the offense ran through Zion.

I thought you were suppose to be ignoring me “bud.” I’ll stop the arguments here. I cant win when someone tries to get sympathy from the board and win arguments by posting news about their family members. Its better we ignore each other before this as always gets personal.

I don't think point Ingram is an issue. The only issue I have with Ingram when working with a ball movement type of offense is his tendency to slow down and over dribble the ball and driving into the teeth of the defense and taking a contested mid range shot when playing with many weapons as we have when playing with the starters. That's fine if he's playing with the bench, but I think it's problematic if you want to play the type of offense where you want multiple guys touching the ball in a possession.

We all know what Zion, CJ, Bi can do
they've played like 14 games together. No we don't know what they can do together.
I never said “together”. In general we know their abilities and how they should be used. We have a lot of questions with Hawkins, Dyson, etcc. So I’m cool with our starters taking it easy in a preseason game while the focus is on all the TBD to get a rhythm and figure their shite out.
As much as y’all want to see Zion dunk on people we ALL know he can do it. So no I’m more happy getting out of preseason knowing he’s healthy than watching him go off in preseason.

It’s not an argument. At all.
You have both admins in here along with me and Shel telling you how much of a bitch you are being essentially.
A day after you straight up said that this franchise is doomed after a 2 year window. Just frick off.

Gets personal then says let's stop before it gets personal.
I see you've now gone into full bitch mode.
Try not to be a bitch going forward. Or just let the men talk sports, we don't need little bitches like you around when we're talking sports.

And here’s shell going “berserk.” Keep going. Now he starts using the words “bitch” to further his arguments. Its typical shell behavior.

I dont really have an issue with you but go ahead join the shell bandwagon. Let’s hear it.

I want to see Zion create easy looks for people, and vice versa. When he has a guard on the block or is rolling to an open rim, we should not be taking off the dribble jump shots. You want him to give better effort, reward him with an easy shot when its there.

I’m not for all of the arguing amongst posters. It was preseason and it means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I do the think Yaz is right about the power struggle brewing on this team. The organization is pushing BI as the best guy and it’s just not reality. All of the Zion “off ball” talk, BI coming off an objectively awful performance for team USA where he skipped the semis and bronze game, Willie and Griff going out of their way to praise BI as the main playmaker. It is just so odd to see an organization go all in with the guy who isn’t their best player.
If all of the preseason talk from the staff and GM had been about Zion being back and how they can maximize his playmaking and gravity I don’t think there would be nearly the concern after last night. They have said all preseason they want Zion off ball and a screener. They don’t want him being the primary driver of the offense. Then last night happens and it’s alarming. As others have said, hopefully this was their Harold Perkins at MLB against FSU moment and things change quickly.

I was about to start a fairly controversial thread that would get me downvoted to hell but backed down, maybe I should to end this squabble

It's too early in the season....hell, the preseason for this shite.

I think that's an overdramatic take. Everyone knew it's going to take time and some trial and error for those two to figure out how to compliment each other.
CJ has pretty much established what his role is going to be based on how he's been playing.
BI and Zion's game won't mesh over night. It's going to take a bit of time before they can effectively figure out the best way to play off of each other. We're just going to have to be patient and hope injuries don't derail their abilities to play with each other.
At the end of the day, I do like a lot of things Borrego is doing with Zion. He's involved in a lot of actions and Borrego's implementation of movement from all 5 guys is causing confusion for opposing defenses. The offense will continue to get more varied and become more versatile.
They just need to execute the simple stuff better right now before they can dive more into the complex actions/sets.

He was battling for rebounds the whole time he was in against the Magic. He did play harder. He also looked tired really quick, like he’s in Boogie Cousins shape and needs a break after 5 minutes.
And you don’t think that’s a bit odd for someone who had a healthy full off-season?
Are we really going to have to wait a good 15-20 games for him to be in game shape? Is that an expectation other teams have for their best player?

Would you rather him get benched so that he stays healthy during preseason or would you rather him run the court and run set plays/ facilitate while going 60%?
He is playing for everyone else on our team. He didn’t shoot last game because the plan was for everyone else to shoot and Zion on the court gives them the open shots and spacing.
It’s a lot easier for EVERYONE ELSE to get fluid preseason reps when Zion is in the game. We don’t need Zion to prove he can dunk, we need him to stay healthy enough to do it in a real fricking NBA game.
That’s it. It’s to keep him conditioned and keep our natural offense flowing so that everyone else can have a good practice game.
Do we need to see Zion practice dunking the ball? I’m almost confident he’s capable of doing that (that’s sarcasm we all know he can do it). So what’s he gonna prove?
Want him to do contested windmills in preseason getting beat up and with a chance to land weird? How about we save that shite for a REAL NBA game.
