Willie Green Appreciation

This is the most watchable the pelicans have been in 3 years and were 1-11. Even in these losses, the players (Excluding the tub of lard) seem to be bought in to what Willie is selling. The defensive intensity pre-ingram/herb injuries was at or above any pelicans team I've watched.
I'm actually optimistic about the future, Griff or no Griff.

I enjoy his coaching so far. His guys continue to play hard for him and even play hard on defense and hustle. Green has tried literally everything with this bench. Playing all young guys, playing all vets, mixing up vets and young guys, mixing starters and bench...etc..
He's understands the issue and attempts to fix it. Unfortunately, nothing has worked so far and it's largely due to the injuries and lack of NBA ready players on that bench.
When you have to rely so much on Lewis, Marshall, Hayes, and a struggling rookie in Murphy, it's really hard for any coach.

I like Willie. It’s not his fault his roster is garbage.

I, too, agree with the OP.

He finally seemed a little fiery and pissed in post game presser last night. Don't know if I could handle another "I'm proud of how our guys fought" post game presser.

I feel bad for Willie having to deal with this team. Because I think he's a good coach and I don't want our shite team with our shite FO and our shite injuries to ruin his chances to do well here. I don't think it will. But it still worries me.

He needs to be much more aggressive and less passive on the sideline during games! please be more demonstrative and show some emotion, especially with officials and officiating!!! 5 techs last night and not a single one on him!

quote:Agree. He did not once take up for any of his players. He is like a statue. And then he spills that ridiculous comment that we have not "earned" calls. What a joke. Some of those "calls" were simple basketball calls and should not have to be "earned."
