Seems like in alot close games J.J. is on the bench and Holiday is out there missing three pointers

You want JJ in over Jrue?

Are we doing that thing where we just completely ignore the defensive side of things?

I don’t pretend to know what the answer is but Redick closed games for the Sixers last season. While his defense is not good, other teams have made it work. We had too many issues defensively to compensate for his limitations as a defender while having a logjam at the position.

And that's what bit them in the arse in the playoffs when teams started running screens until they had their guy on JJ

Redick was 0-3 for zero points yesterday. He'd had no success the whole game, and y'all think that he was magically going to get open and hit shots at the end?

It wasn't his day.

We suck bad enough on defense without JJ

JJ is one of the worst defensive players in the league.

His defense is terrible and we have a coach that has no idea how to draw up a late game offensive play, so there's no reason for him to be out there.

That 6'ers roster in no way can be compared to this Pelicans. The 6ers had 3 of the best defenders in the entire league on the roster with Butler, Simmons, and Embid. And let us not forget that Joel was in the running for defensive player of the year. That starting lineup had a ton of switchability, length, strength, and one of the best rim protectors in the game. It was a lot easier to hide JJ and make up for his short-comings.

Also, that roster was so devoid of shooting, that JJ had to be in.

yeah because every player is stout on defense and they have a great defensive philosophy in philly. We don’t have that here therefore JJ’s weaknesses defensively really show
