Hawkins - we can't take this guy off the court with the 2nd unit right???

Jose (energy energy energy)

Naji (defensive pest, shown ability to knock down the 3 and make the team play)

Dyson (great improvement on offense and an absolute STUD on defense)

Dyson.

It'll more so trickle down so Dyson will just get less minutes and guys like Naji and Ryan will fall out of the rotation for the most part.

The coaching staff has their work cut out for them figuring out the minutes distribution for sure, but one great thing we can bank on is we no longer NEED CJ to play the 36 minutes a night he was playing.

Play him 28 and keep him fresh

Dyson and Hawkins

Pretty simple both lose some. It’s a great problem to have either way.

People better not forget, CJ was our star to start this season, too. Insane depth.

It’s gonna be a night to night thing too. Dyson on the floor when Herb isn’t is a huge luxury to have. He’s done a number of fox in the 3rd. Made his life miserable.

realistically that'll never happen.

32 will probably be the minimum average mpg

Ryan isn’t gonna disappear bro. He brings shooting. He will get on the floor in quite a few sets. He isn’t gonna get insane minutes, but he will get some.

But, with this depth, why should he play more than 7 minutes per quarter?

Who is the last player a good as CJ that wasn't really old that played 28 minutes?

But to answer, because you need to maximize regular season wins.

Trey Murphy will be getting those minutes.

Dyson is going to get minutes. He’s just too good not to play.

CJ’s minutes will come from a combined decrease of Dyson, Naji, and Jose minutes if I had to guess

I love Jose to death but right now I think Dyson needs more minutes than Jose personally

Hawkins and Naji will see less minutes, when CJ and Trey are ready to return to the floor.

Man I really hope we see our whole core healthy and playing together for a significant chunk of the season.

CJ
Herb
BI
Zion
JV

Alvarado
Dyson
Hawkins
Trey
Nance/Ryan/Zeller (depends on matchup)

Dyson/Trey/Hawkins probably getting majority of bench minutes.
Like someone else said, CJ doesnt have to play 35+ minutes every night and Zion will have stretches at the 5 with big wings (BI/Trey) just to maximize your quality minutes. The depth is strong with this team.

I do wonder who the odd men out is for 12 roster spots IF this team is ever 100% healthy. Definitely Kira and Robinson, but still leaves one out of Naji/Ryan/Zeller that wouldnt be suited up.

JV will get less minutes as will a combo of Naji, Jose, and to an extent Dyson

Matt Ryan needs to take Kira’s roster spot and JRE needs to take EJs. Sign Jemison and someone else as two-ways. Team is DEEP

I live under a rock sometimes with new information. Is this part of the new CBA with the extra 2-way players I imagine?

Question 2, it wasn’t 15 active spots last year huh?

Yeah no one is guaranteed all star status this early on this team, especially with the new rules on resting players. I think you study and create a game plan based on your players the closest to 100%. Once you can start a streak, roll with it!
