Those are the scenarios in this thread.

But this thread is meaningless. I want to make the playoffs and then move on from Al. Which I feel is likely

Long term you gotta pick 2. I wanna make the playoffs in Zion's first year, but if that means keeping Gentry, then I don't want that. The Pelicans will forever be mediocre as long as he's here. I fricking promise you that.

It isn’t meaningless. It has a purpose. The two scenarios were laid out to make people have a choice. They are very close scenarios.

Monty had 45 wins and the 8 seed the year he was fired. I remember it was a tight run with OKC at the end for that 8 seed and Pels found a way to win.

Just cause Pels get the 8, I wouldn’t say that necessarily saves Alvins job. In fact, I’m trusting Griff has a plan.

Or I could. I posted my own scenario and picked it.

I would rather this young core experience the playoffs even if it meant getting swept as opposed to narrowly missing out and getting shitty lottery odds.

Unfortunately, we're going to get the latter.

I don’t know man. Sorry, I’m in a bad mood. I’m on vacation and I’ve been drinking. Don’t be believing me.

No matter what happens , I want Gentry gone.

Imagine how many folks would love to coach Zion (and Jrue and BI and Lonzo etc).

Don't make the playoffs and gentry doesn't pass GO and collect $200

i get the feeling that even with scenario 2, gentry is retained just cause he didnt have zion for so much of the season. it's gonna suck

I'm not 100% sure Gentry gets fired unless we totally bomb out the rest of this season.

Griff really seems to like him and I think he's going to get credit for barely missing the playoffs after not having Zion for as long as he did.

1. It’s a totally different level in the playoffs, and it would be invaluable for players like BI, Zion, and Lonzo to have experience playing in those type of games.

Gentry was fools gold. He was getting undo credit for the warriors offense and success. At this point in time , I’ll trust in GriffIn. Please Griff, find the right guy.

I don’t see a scenario of making the playoffs and firing al, they just seem to continually make excuses for him. I think they want to give him a shot with a full deck despite knowing deep down how it ends

While I agree that it would be a good no-pressure experience for them, I don't think young players necessarily need to make the playoffs once before they are allowed to compete in the playoffs.

Lets not forget what CP, West and Tyson did in their first playoff series.
