Why can’t he?

Shaq, David Robinson, Magic, Bird, LeBron, Iverson, Vince Carter, Larry Johnson, Jordan, Webber, Duncan, Kenyon Martin, Carmelo, Derrick Rose were all top 20 players as rookies and 2nd year. Some top 10 and some top 5. Some fell off due to injury (Martin, Rose) but they made immediate 15-20 win impacts on their teams.

Out of all guys who’ve come in the leagues in the past 20

He’s not going to be a top-10 player in year 1 or 2.
And that’s a list without even looking into a bit.

Almost all those guys spent more than one year in college. And it took AD & Rose 2 years to make an all star team, took KD 3 years to make an all star team and 4 years for Melo to make an all star team.

I was going to respond about how Barkley is severely underrated in general and this post reminded me of that, but then I just assumed that post was a troll post.

I will say though, troll post or not, it does bring up a point that concerns me in that expectations for Zion will be pretty wild and out of hand for many fans, and I can see a roadmap where he's an elite player and half of our fans hate on him because he isn't as good as Lebron.

Winning cures all. A lot of the focus on ADs flaws the last year or so has been because he couldn’t cover up the chronically mismanaged rosters he was on, not because he’s actually disappointing. Sure he’s no Alpha but a better team would have made that not matter.

We've already had people on this board say he's better at basketball than kyrie.
