I'm seeing countless Mentions about them being great fits for the Pels on social media.

Those would be lateral moves.

All three are the same exact coach. Why would we fire Monty only to hire a guy exactly like him who the team is less familiar with?

1. Thibs
2. Gentry
3. Mike Malone

Plugged in washing machine with extension cord so it can function on the sideline.

Rehire Monty

Gentry could be pretty interesting. Total offensive mastermind. He has done great things as an assistant.

However, is he just a great assistant and not a good HC? He's spent 12 years as a HC and only made the playoffs like twice I think.

Great assistant. Bad HC.

He does and he seems to be a hot name. He's just failed again and again and again as a HC. That can't be ignored.

Why all the hate for Scott Brooks?

Because the complaints from OKC fans about Brooks are a mirror image of all the things we hate about Monty. It is about as lateral a move as you could make. I'm sure Monty could have made the Finals too if the roster contained 3 future MVP candidates and an All Star.

People complained about Scott Brooks for many of the same reasons they complained about Monty, most notably rotations.

Has he really though?

He had less than one season in Miami. I don't remember much about his 2 years in Detroit but I think it was a terrible roster.

He took those really good Suns teams and built off of D'antoni's system and propelled them to their pinnacle. He was felled there by a declining Steve Nash and poor roster management there but I'd say his coaching tenure in Phoenix--the one time he got a real shot--was a moderate success.

I would love to see the system he ran in Phoenix combined with what he's learned on the Warriors staff applied to our roster.
