You're Griff. Getting Ingram to stay long term is priority number 1. You engage Ingram in discussions. You ask him what type of player would Ingram want to play with alongside Zion Williamson the next few years. Possibly including Lonzo Ball in this vision as well.

At what point does Ingram describe maybe exactly what Jrue Holiday is to this team?

Likely just a temporary slump.

I would like to get Drummond to play along side Zion and Favors. In the off-season go get some shooters and we are set.

If you want Ingram long term, just give him the max. Ingram is happy here and will sign.

If Lonzo is on the team and learns how to be a threat driving the ball, Klay Thompson or Khris Middleton mold is perfect for this team

Yep, need a shooter. Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Dale Ellis, Klay Thompson, Majerle, Maxwell, Houston type guy.

It's less about who they want & more about who fits best with BI & Zion. BI isn't a great defender & is best on offense with he ball in his hands making plays. He can break down the defense & find the right players. Zion also not a good defender & isn't a shooter. He also needs the ball in his hands but can play off others.

So at this point, I think we need a low-usage, floor spacing big that can also defend (a player like Al Horford or Myles Turner) & low-usage guards that can shoot & defend.

Guys that fit the bill = Mo Harkless, DFS, Justin Holiday, Delon Wright, Kelly Olynyk, Derrick White, Nemanja Bjelica, Robert Covington, Horford, Turner, Jonathon Issac, Patty Mills, & everyone's favorite, Fred Van Vleet

**fwiw, I think Lonzo has a shot of being in that above group, but his 3pt shooting, FT shooting (combined with the poor FT shooting of Zion), decision making, & attitude makes me want to go in another direction
**Jrue can definitely be a guy that fits in the above group, but he has to stop seeing himself as a shot-creator on offense, defer to Zion & BI, & be more of role player

I would love that! Of course the trade experts might take exception.

his shot and improvement is trending in the right direction. WIth a bit better shot selection and continued improvment, you'd have to think he can be close to a 38% 3 pt shooter next year.

It's not that I don't see Lonzo's improvement. I'm saying he isn't the best fit with BI & Zion.

BI & Zion will draw defenders. So the other players on the floor need to burn them when they do that. Plus combine Zion's poor FT shooting w/Lonzo's, and it's a liability to have them both on the floor in crunch times in the playoffs.

Sounds like you just do not like him. His 3pt shooting is fine at 36%. His FT shooting sucks. I do not have a problem with his decision making most of the time and have no idea when he has exhibited a bad attitude.

Catch and shoot player like a young Redick. You don't want too many ball dominant players.

If Ball would just be smarter and discipline, he would be solid since his shooting has improved, but mental isn’t there at critical times.

Ingram had great chemistry with Brook Lopez when they were both with the Lakers.

Much better shooter, less turnover prone, can also handle some of the ball handling duties that Jrue does.

Obviously not as good of a defender, but he does some things better than Jrue.
