quote:Roughly same age. Not a good defender at all. Has disappeared in big games as well. He is not the player I would be targeting. Main reason is he still has 4 years and $130 million left on his contract. No way I would want to take that on for him.
Much better shooter, less turnover prone, can also handle some of the ball handling duties that Jrue does.
Obviously not as good of a defender, but he does some things better than Jrue.

Jrue will bounce back. In the meantime, the BoRd will bitch and moan.

A big that can shoot the 3 would be ideal. Right now the high pick by our 5 is played only for the roll to the rim. A 5 that could shoot the 3 would have to be honored and would open driving opportunities. BI and Lopez took turns feasting with the Ingram drive and Lopez 3 ball. I believe this is what intrigues the FO about Myles Turner.

KAT and Klay would be a pipe dream.

A healthy Klay Thompson is perfect. Solid defender and can play the role of a spot up guy, let Zion screen and roll off him. Would give us a lot if flexibility.
And that’s why he’d never leave Golden State.

A Danny Green type would be awesome if you get a Myles Turner or reliable stretch big

Ace three point shooters and good defenders

He seems kind of emotionally erratic. Then again, losing will do that to you. Monster Talent

This team needs shooters and floor spacers and that’s it. Also wouldn’t hurt having some bigs that can actually shoot. Between favors, Jax, and Zion, none of these guys are capable of making a jump shot. So when they come off pick n rolls the defense knows they're rolling to the basket with their lack of threat from 5 feet out

fwiw, I think Lonzo has a shot of being in that above group, but his 3pt shooting, FT shooting (combined with the poor FT shooting of Zion), decision making, & attitude makes me want to go in another direction
Lonzo is a field general, if you’re paying attention to what’s going on. His attitude is 100% what you want in a team player.
Now just protect the basketball, make your free throws, and develop a floater.

Yes, a knock down shooter. Specifically, a SG who shoots 40+% from 3 and 80+% from the line. A third option wo doesn’t need to dominate the ball. Also a defensive wing and a big who can space.
I’ve been fascinated with how the Heat managed to turn Duncan Robinson from an undrafted PF into a dangerous shooting guard. He’s a great shooter who knows how to move and get himself open like a much bigger JJ. I was curious about how they hid him on defense but it looks like a lot of times they just stick up top in what looks like my old high schools 2-1-2 Zone. And it works! Sometimes I think these defensive gurus make things too complicated...
