What would be realistic for the Pelicans?

Resign Morrow, Babbit, Anjinca, Smith

Get about $8 million worth of Big and SF via a combination of MLE and S&T of guys like Roberts and Aminu packaged with Pierre Jackson.

Target bigs would be guys like:
Kosta Koufos*
Andray Blatche
Kris Humphries

Target SFs would be:
Thabo Sefolosha
Martell Webster*
Wilson Chandler*
Jared Dudley
CJ Miles
Caron Butler/Richard Jefferson on 1 year deals

*would probably take trading something more significant like Rivers/Withey/Ajinca

As for what I'm expecting, I expect Demps to surprise us as usual. Like packaging Rivers, Withey and the 2015 pick for a guy none of us have even considered. Or using the MLE to S&T for a lower level RFA like Lavoy Allen or Ed Davis.

I will never understand why Pel fans want Smith back sooo bad a pf who can't make it through a half a season. Kosta need to be a main trade target Memphis barely played him and they will want to resign Ed Davis and I dont see why would they want to keep him.

It depends on the other moves we make. He's better than scraping the bottom of the barrel for another Stiemsma if we can't get an upgrade at C. But if you do pick up a guy like Koufos, you probably don't bring Smith back, or if you do, you trade him during the season.

Not much.

An MLE guy 3 or 5.

That's about it. But I'm feeling pretty pessimistic right now for some reason. The albatross that is Eric Gordon will just never leave, and knowing that Monty will be back just ruins my positivity for the offseason.

I can't envision anything major unless Gordon is involved, which probably won't happen as we all know. I could see Dell being content with the roster unfortunately since he was before everyone got hurt.

1. Trade Gordon for a decent 3 or 5
2. Sign a decent 3 or 5 in our available price range
3. Get rid of Aminu and Roberts
4. Bring in Pierre and hope he can be a legit back up 1
5. Sign role players with remaining cap

That's about it

I think most would secretly want Smith to bang their old ladies.

I am only down with bringing Smith back if you trade Withey. How many backup bigs can you afford to carry?

I don't see Smith here long term and Withey is the primary reason. But if you can't get an upgrade at center then you're back to center by backup committee, and Smith would be good to have in that situation. He's certainly not the first guy you sign, but you can't rule out bringing him back yet.

Eric Gordon moving his exercycle from the garage to the new workout room at his house. That's about the only place he'll be moved to. No body wants him and his contract...end of story.
