I think you still need veteran presence - that's why I'm keen on keeping Bey, Murphy, and Jones.
I've seen earlier in the season "trade everyone but Fears/Queen and tank for 3 seasons" but you can't do that.
You won't be able to teach your young assets good habits on and off the floor if everyone on the team stinks and is just a temporary placeholder.
You need vets, AND you need players good enough to see at least some benefits for your hard work paying off with a taste of success and wins...just a little something.

Sign guys like Deandre Jordan for the minimum if you want vet presence. Anyone with an ounce of trade value outside of rookie contract guys should be traded.
It can't be all rookies and Deandre Jordan types, just won't work.

The Spurs got Wemby and immediately made plans to be good almost immediately.
Detroit was bad until they got Cade Cunningham.
Houston was bad until they got pieces they felt they could build around, then turned it around by year 3.
The Pels are already in year 1 with 2 solid young assets, so they have 1 more year to go, is that your argument? If so, exactly what can they do between now and the end of next season to come through on this?
They're not currently constructed to do this kind of turnaround after next season.

Disappointing, but true. Wild that all these teams are set up better now and for the future.

That’s how the timelines always are. Really bad for 2 or 3 seasons, then make a jump to around 40 wins or so in year 3 or 4, then make the jump to 50 wins and start seriously competing at the top of the conference in year 4 or 5.
They all did the same thing. And none of them had anything other than and of bench vets when they were really bad. Only when they transitioned to trying to win did they add solid vets.
And they all traded away their valuable veterans when they went into rebuilding mode.

To be fair, my stance has always been "everyone is on the table except for Fears/Queen".
I think the only guys you absolutely have to trade are Murphy (highest valued asset) and Zion (because the team will go nowhere as long as the rest of the roster orbits around him).

To me, everyone except fears is on the table. And I like queen a lot, I just think he's available for the right price.
Some combination of zion herb and trey should be able to get you 4-5 firsts and a decent starter in return.
Let Poole shoot 30 3s a game and make us forget about the Eric Gordon tank meme.
Fears will tell you the timeline. Build it around him and younger dudes, then consolidate and swing for a star a la Boogie when he looks ready.

I don't think so, else we would've done this at the deadline.
I think Trey gets us 1-2 firsts at most. Herb probably is someone you hold until the deadline before trading him to a contending team looking for a defender. The tricky part is that that teams needs to have a lottery 1st asset.
I truly believe attaching Zion to either of those deals tanks the value we'd get in return for Trey and/or Herb. The book is out on him, he's an injury prone ball dominant player that gets empty stats on a way too big contract.

He'll get 3 minimum.

Not necessarily. Run it back means you stay where you are now.
Win now means you make some dumb move that cost us picks or taking back a bad contract

It means run backwards which we are doing well.

We are in a giant mess. As I understand NBA trade restrictions (admittedly at not the highest level), we are going to have some trouble even blowing things up. What a mess.
Just let the NBA come run the team again like in 2010-2011 when they traded CP3 away. Can’t get any worse and they just might be able to unload Zion where Dumars failed.

You have got to be the most miserable person in the world. You hate everything NOLA/LA, but continue to post on all of their forums. Why not just avoid the things you dislike instead of regurgitating the same shite over and over about wanting to sell the teams. You bring nothing to any thread you post in except for constant complaining and negativity.

Not only are we pot committed after our dumbass moves last year, but we aren’t going to improve the roster in any reasonable way without blowing it up - which we obviously won’t do since we are all in on a playoff run next year.
For me it’s also the fact that I don’t want any of the people currently involved making more moves that would frick us for even longer than we already are.

Gayle loves hiring organizational arsonists then expecting them to be a successful firefighter.

Everything is wrong with this, considering he's not a free agent and that you would want Poole anywhere near this roster at all.

I dont want him in the state if possible. Very clear that one decent year in Washington was a fluke
