but I dont think its that simple- throw BI back in there and we’ll win.

Look, I get it, we like to rag on Willie and he has a lot of shortcomings when it comes to coaching, but if you think a longtime NBA vet and assistant coach who is now a head coach simplified it down to that, then I don't know what to tell you.

Fair? Any coach. Nah, a smart coach would've slowly worked him in. Again, like the other guy said tou don't sacrifice chemistry just because someone becomes available. Our offense looked nothing like what it did against the warriors. If we would've played this against the warriors, we would've lost by 50.

Surely you have examples

This had more to do with Zion and the Lakers defense than BI.

Then what did he simplify it down to?

I actually think this is a fair criticism of Willie. Knowing BI minutes would likely restrict any real rhythm , let him come off the bench , and keep that first unit in rhythm .

Having said that , I can also acknowledge it would not have mattered . This game was lost bc they were the better , tougher, more aggressive team .

The matchup flat out sucks for us. Only hope is 3’s and Zion willing to go right and compete like he did in our previous 2 games defensively.

I don't know, I wasn't in the team meetings but I promise you there was more to the discussions than Willie saying "BI back? LOL WE RIDIN'"

There are several stars that have come off the bench when coming off injuries or long absences. You’re acting like this is some weird concept that only Phil Jackson could imagine.

For year long injuries, sure?

Find me one where a dude missed a month.

I honestly don’t think there was even a discussion about putting BI immediately back in the starting lineup and how that affects chemistry- and again thats a problem.

We played so much better in the 2nd half with Jonas in the game. If Willie doesn’t see that and use it then we deserve our fate. I think he will though. Borrego isn’t an idiot.

You keep changing the parameters of the argument but sure I believe Draymond was suspended probably missed a month came off bench. And for him it was conditioning. For BI its injury and conditioning.

This is very true and they’re just a horrible matchup. I think it could have been more competitive but yes we would have lost either way.

Eyebrow is just too big for Nance but Jonas puts pressure on AD from the other end on offense. Yes he will het beat some by the faster Davis but he can also put him foul trouble like today. We couldn’t have played worse so I’m confident this was a o e off. No shots fell, Zion played scared and Willie went small when he should have stayed big.,I believe some of those issues fix themselves. No way we shoot that bad again able hard for Zion to play worse than he did. Hopefully BI gets in a rhythm as well because his mid range shot was still there today.

No I didn't, I established a month-long injury from the beginning

Draymond was suspended probably missed a month came off bench

Draymond isn't to GSW what BI is to us, c'mon man.

This has become a trend against the Lakers on national TV.

You’re right he’s probably more important. They couldn’t win without Draymond. We were playing our best basketball without BI.

I mean we were just downright awful. But to somehow blame this on Nance is just insane. We gave up numerous alley oops and layups before he ever entered the game. This need to constantly hammer on Nance is bizarre.

5 years ago, sure.

This year, nah. This is the same Draymond that didn't take a single shot against us.

No world where BI does that.

And you think because he didn’t take a shot he wasn’t impactful in that game? Without Draymond the warriors were a below .500 team. I disalike Draymond but there is an easy argument he is immensely more important to winning on the warriors than BI has been to the pelicans winning games.
