It's like Vogon poetry, but from a Vogon that got dropped on its head as a child.

Gonna take a few trips to the playoffs to learn how to play playoff basketball.

Hope they get to practice. A lot.

Ja will continue to improve, Jaren Jackson, if he can come back healthy, is a hell of a player.

He's not a hell of a player. JJJ has shown flashes of greatness, but he hasn't proven anything yet. Depending on him is foolish.

I also think that Adams is in the middle of a steep decline. He was legitimately a good player at OKC two years ago. This past season, he was a below-average starter. The aging and/or nagging injuries that plagued him this past season are going to leave him alone in the future? That seems a bad bet. I bet he declines further and is a poor starter for them.

I don't hate the Grizzlies at all. Ja seems like a good kid, and I love Anderson and Brooks and the way they play. And I'm fond of Steven and his worm farm! I just don't think that they make even the play-in next season:

Jazz
Suns
Lakers
Nuggets
Warriors
Pelicans
Mavericks
Blazers
Clippers
Kings

Trae and Ja being ranked so poorly defensively but still dragging their teams to the playoffs, shows that some of these metrics are a bit overrated in terms of actual wins and losses.

Trae is the 28th overall player in RAPTOR, despite his defense. RAPTOR loves his offense that much.

Ja didn't drag his team to the playoffs. Dillon Brooks, Slo-mo, and Jonas each did as much or more as Ja to get them there.

I know the Spurs made some odd moves. But I can't write them out of the top 10. They have a ton of young, athletic players with some nice vets. It's a deep team with a ton of B-C level players. Going to have 6-7 guys that average double figures.

Also, the Wolves are primed for a big jump. If they don't do it this year, they have to tear it down. This is Towns big chance to prove himself. I'm expecting a monster year out of him.

Lastly, this is going to sound crazy. But the Rockets are up to something. I can totally see them making a huge move before the season, like picking up Simmons. IMO, Green is the lock ROY and Sengun is going to be big. They have the extra pieces (Wood, Tate, Porter) and the fat contract (Wall) to make a big splash. I am not sure they wait and tank another year..

team was top 3 in deflections. team.
team top 3 in paint. jv morant clarke and guys running full court. Brooks.

solid down to the 10th man.
the bench was able to maintain or improve starters leads.

The Spurs might have the worst roster in the NBA

I disagree with this a ton. There are no stars. But its got great balance.

Murray/Walker
White/Cassell
Johnson/McDermott
Young/Aminu
Poeltl/Collins

Great youth, plus super cheap team (bottom 3 in payroll). Really good backcourt, top 10ish in the league, counting in depth. Poeltl has become a solid Center. Its a .500 team. People are expecting this massive drop-off with Derozan leaving. I don't think it happens. Those 3 young starters (Murray, White, Johnson) are going to surprise..

Name a couple teams that look worse on paper than that.
That’s a crap roster.

Pretty sure the Spurs have already largely admitted this is probably the first of what will be a real rebuild year.

I don't think they even expect to be that competitive beyond Pop just being Pop.

and morant passes well.
got that ncaa Bob cousy award because the only 20 10 season ever.
cp3 had more assists one year but lower scoring.

anyhow he looks to pass.
if he ever comes back with a jumper he becomes super star.
neither he nor jaren have a real jumper. just a push thing.

I'm not going to oversell it. But that trio of Murray, White and Johnson is good. They have brought all 3 up slowly. It'll be interesting if they can make the leap. They have a couple of other young players emerging as well in Poeltl, Walker, Vessel and Eubanks. I even liked the vet additions of McDermott, Aminu and Young. Plus a reclamation project in Collins.

I just believe they won't tank and Pop can work something with that young talent, especially since they already bought into his system (they'd be gone if they haven't). I'm not saying it's a good team. But they aren't the worst in the league and will be competitive every night. Might even sneak into the top 10 and grab a play in spot.

Vegas says you already have, they put the win total line for the Spurs at 28.5. Not that they're always right, but as usual you have chosen a hill to die on that nobody else was even considering.

Interesting. I like both them and Houston to go over. No doubt OKC tanks another year. But I don't see any other teams under 30 wins, except for the Blazers if they flip Lillard. Maybe the Kings too.

Houston will be bad, you don't win with a bunch of rookies in the NBA. And I like its rookie class.
