Do you "gotta love" the Grizzlies trainer too? There's a 3rd player with a toe issue that will be out multiple weeks too, CALL OUT ALL TRAINERS!!!

Just curious, do you think the staff is being overly cautious this year? Not even talking previous years. Personally I think some criticism is fair. It seems pretty clear, to me, that B.I. and Zion have been held out of games that they could have easily played. I'm sorry, that does not benefit the team.

Not really, or maybe slightly.

We've had I believe a couple of issues that had nothing going on structurally, but simply came down to pain tolerance and an extra game or 2 was missed, that's not on the trainer.

But again, that's beside the point. The poster is complaining about BI banging his toe, so the issue is the poster is already creating an issue in his head that we will be overly cautious with BI because it's just a minor toe injury.

Toe injuries are a killer for NBA players. It takes a while to return. Bane is going through it now. I forgot what Pod I heard just this morning but they were discussing how even when players return, they often report that it takes as long as 6 months to feel 100% after a toe sprain.

But if BI misses 3 weeks, which is totally normal, you know many posters are gonna flip out over the missed time over a little stubbed toe.

That's not exactly out of the ordinary this early in the season. We're not the only team that would do that.

That's true, but the frustrating part to me is keeping them out when there ready to play. Just like when B.I. got bumped in the face, they held him out for the whole road trip when he could have played those LA games.

It's also not out of the ordinary for stars to play when they're not %110. And we're not the Warriors where you have guys that gel like crazy and have won championships together and have in a way earned load management (though ours isn't load management). We have a team that is still trying to find it's identity and gain chemistry. And let be honest, for Zion in particular, he's missed enough games in his career that it wouldn't hurt anything to push him a little harder. This year he is considered healthy but even now he's on a games played trajectory that is not good. We need him to play more games than he is right not.

I'm not getting mad about B.I. being held out over a toe injury that we don't know anything about, but I am a little frustrated overall with the approach they've had this season.

Anyone else thinks Kira sees the court tonight?

If Naji doesn't play, I can see it. We're going to get in foul trouble or Graham is going to get eviscerated on defense.

It doesn't take a doctorate to know that he could have played in a game 10 days after he was bumped. I'm not trying to take a head injury lightly, I've had epilepsy since I was 19 and have had two brain surgeries to help, but let's not act like B.I. had a Tua Tagovailoa type concussion.

I hope he gets some minutes. I'd be happy for him.

I think Kira will play if one of the following happens:

1) Herb or another of our guards gets in foul trouble

2) We have a 2nd-half lead of over 10 points

Edit: from Will Guillory:

Willie said he has to see how the flow of the game goes before he determines whether Kira plays or not.

Regarding BI, Jen just said something about “toe turf.” Anyone seeing word he’s got turf toe? Ugh.
